Poverty kills. Cancer death rates are 60% higher for people living in deprived UK areas compared with those in more affluent areas. 28,400 extra deaths due to deprivation, people seek comfort in smoking. Poor healthcare, late diagnosis, 'must work pressure' punishes the poor.
