Your story reminds me of when my twin nieces were told carrots were just for grown-ups and were only allowed one as rewards for good behaviour. They were 6 years old when I asked them what their fave food was, "CARROTS!" they said in unison.

This whole "Is being a billionaire moral?" question seems to be a go-to at every point in this election. 1. This is a stupid question. 2. The answer would be "If they paid the same %age amount of tax as their workers do, then I don't have a problem". Because everyone knows they don't!

2/2 Many had already died, some committed suicide, but my maths teacher as well as my rowing coach got 25 years. I'm often tempted to point out the some men/boys also carry the weight of SA but it seldom seems appropriate. It was VERY brave of you to write about it. (And I still miss the LOHO crowd)

Dear God, what an awful story (both yours and hers). The impunity with which many SA offenders act is beyond infuriating. I went to one of the UK's 'top' private schools for boys and not one or two but 17!!! of our teachers were investigated for historic abuse. 1/2

Labour are definitely grossly underperforming their potential given how unpopular Luxon is. I think left leaning voters respond to optimism, inspiration and hope far more readily than they embrace negativity or neutrality on certain issues. Steering a 'central' course is fraught with peril.

Totally agree. I’m also suspicious of the puppeteers behind it all (given their leader interviewed for the job! Who did the interview and made the choice and what are THEY after? Trust needs to be earned - I don’t trust that set-up). Plus some policies are way worse for the working poor.

Took one look at who funded Opportunity and how much cash they also splurged on NAct and I can’t see Opp as anything other than an attempt to split the left vote. Not a fan. Don’t trust them no matter how reasonable they may sound right now. Vote Labour or Green (or for your TPM candidate)

I fell in love with baseball when I visited Chicago in 1988 and was taken to Wrigley on my first day. Being a freelancer in NZ is pretty much the perfect timezone for a baseball fan!
