When I was CD I fought like mad for us to keep our Day Hospital. It was a cornerstone of outpatient, CGA, SDEC, MDT therapy and admission avoidance all in one. That was 15 years ago. Very short-sighted 🤷🏻‍♂️ I envy those units across the UK who were fortunate enough to retain theirs.

It’s great to see the RCP working with other Colleges and Trusts to tackle this. Good examples across the UK of hospitals with NO temporary escalation spaces or corridor care. It’s said TES use is a choice and not an inevitability. We can do so much better.
