Gifted a Keurig. Keep it descaled and it does get right hot. Never used the nasty pods. Have reusable cups for my Cuban coffee. Just one cup at 5am so it does the job. If I drank more I would switch to pour over.

When my kittens were young and would go out for a bit with their mother they were entranced by birds. The crows taught them a difficult lesson and now when they are out the crows and bluejays will walk right by them to get to the outside bubbler. Birds are a no - lizards are another issue

When my gang is fractious in the evening I just shout “who want crack” and they come running. Play fight for twenty minutes or so and then crash for the nite. My neighbors son, who is a cop, laughs when the windows are open.

The image by Zunir shows a tall, rectangular ancient clay tablet densely covered with rows of cuneiform text, displayed upright on a clear stand against a dark museum background. The tablet is Nanni’s famous letter of complaint, written on a clay tablet to a copper merchant named Ea-nasir. Nanni complains that he has been sent low-grade copper, rather than the high quality copper agreed. Ea-nasir has treated Nanni and his messengers with contempt, sending them back without a refund, and telling them "If you want to take them (the copper ingots) take them, if you do not want to take them, go away!" 😮

The complaint was inscribed on a clay tablet using cuneiform script, one of the earliest systems of writing, characterized by its wedge-shaped characters. Tablet dimensions: height 11.6 cm, width 5 cm. Old Babylonian period, 1750 BC.

The tablet was excavated by Sir Leonard Woolley at the ancient Mesopotamian city of Ur in modern-day Iraq in the 1920-30s. Acquired in the division of finds.

Four cars off to vet for annual physical and shots. They sing completely different songs on the way, but love the vet. Purrs, ankle wrapping, helping with keyboard issues. Greeted with a shout when they enter the office. And all nice and healthy. Mom is 7 kids are 5.

When I had the joy of summering in Maine we always had a small group on the water for a 4th sail and lunch. The highlight was the reading of the declaration, everyone taking their turn. And quiet reflection. So wonderful.

Dear Sussex Past,
Fishbourne Palace holds a place dear to my heart. I was captivated by the Cambridge Latin Course as a child, which inspired me to go on to study classics at university, and I was thrilled to visit Fishbourne to see for myself the home of King Cogidubnus. The site is an essential visit for me whenever | am in the area and I've passed my enthusiasm on to my children.
So I was delighted to come across the Fishbourne Roman Palace social media account on Bluesky, at
@romanpalace.bsky.social. This account is hugely entertaining and educational, a fantastic example of best practice in museum outreach and engagement. And with 13,000 followers, it's clear that many

You can imagine my surprise and dismay, therefore, when I learned today that the account is to cease posting. It seems that the account has been the personal project of an enterprising member of the Fishbourne staff; but rather then being celebrated for their initiative, apparently they are being sanctioned! What an extraordinarily short sighted move on the part of Sussex Past. I hope you will reconsider. I suspect this account has done more for Fishbourne's place in the public eye than anything since the Cambridge Latin Course.
I am copying this message to the Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees and hope to enjoy @romanpalace.bsky.social's illuminating and entertaining posts once again in the future following their reinstatement.
