Psalm 4:8, encourages believers to take their anxieties, search their hearts quietly, and surrender them to God before closing their eyes, rather than taking anger or worry to bed. Choosing to sleep in the middle of a trial is an active demonstration of trust. God is our remedy ♥️. #God

Does our desire for recognition and attention replace Jesus from our lives? Many spend an inordinate amount of time trying to build their image to seek acceptance. When we focus our lives on Jesus, we're not absorbed with ourselves, we pursue an intimate walk with Him ❤️.

God values a genuine heart of devotion & complete obedience over empty religious rituals. When we attend worship, give money, and serve, but actively live in rebellion, those religious actions are hollow & offensive to God. God desires a heart of obedience above anything else. #ObedienceToGod

There are plenty of worries that can weigh us down. But as we release them into God's strong hands, He will help us through our trials. In the midst of fear, we can look to God. God will provide grace, mercy, insight, and direction. Help us to place our burdens in your care. #Worries

How often do we get "spiritual" amnesia & forget the grace of God during troubling times? A good way to reestablish a thankful heart is to set aside "undistracted" time & deliberately remember God's past provisions & give thanks. God's steadfast love is always present ❤️. #God

The Bible considers the heart to be the hub of human personality, producing the things we would ordinarily ascribe to the "mind." In Luke 6:43-45, Jesus tells us that the heart is a repository for good & evil & that what comes out of our mouth, good or bad, begins in the heart. #TheHeart

As a former cross-country runner, it took great discipline, training, & another runner to set the pace. The same can be said with our Christian life. Following God, isn't a solo endeavor. God didn't create us to run the race of life alone. Be encouraged, find someone to run with 🙏❤️. #SpiritualRace

Often, we forget how God has carried us through past difficulties. When life is stable or smooth, it's easy to shift our focus and mistakenly attribute our survival or success to our own strength rather than God's grace. If it hadn't been for God, where would we be? #God

In Psalm 37, the righteous can trust God to sustain them (Ps. 37:17) & the inheritance of righteousness will never end (Ps. 37:18). The righteous are given righteousness & salvation from the Lord (Ps. 37:39). It's a psalm that reminds & encourages us of God's faithfulness ❤️. #God

While lovingkindness can describe one person's actions toward another it's most often used to describe the character of the Lord. Many places in Scripture speak of the lovingkindness of the Lord. Lovingkindness is part of who God is. He delights in showing lovingkindness. #God

When we try to carry the burdens of life by ourselves, the weight gets heavy. However, when we put our hope, faith, and trust, in the Lord and rely on His strength, we can face another day. We can run the race in life knowing He's right beside us. Rely on His strength! ❤️ #God

God's infinite thoughts are far greater than our limited ability to comprehend them. God's ways are higher than our ways because His ways are always part of a bigger plan. We see only our small piece of the puzzle. God sees the finished work. Make God your number one priority ❤️. #God

When I read Psalm 136:1, I have two reasons to be thankful: God's constant goodness & His steadfast love. When we recognize the nature of our depravity & understand that, apart from God, there's only death (John 10:10; Rom. 7:5). Our natural response should be gratefulness❤️ 🙌. #Thankfulness

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, notes "there's a time for everything," a time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, a time to dance, a time to tear, and a time to mend. Life is filled with seasons of joy & seasons of grief. As believers, we're to cast our burdens on the Lord.

Proverbs 4:24-27, focuses on moral integrity, discipline, & staying focused on a righteous path. Avoid lying, gossiping, twisting the truth, or using language to mislead others. Your speech reflects the condition of the heart. Distractions are the primary gateway to temptation.

As believers, we're called to "make the best use of the time, because the days are evil." We must think carefully about our daily choices instead of acting without purpose. Use everyday routines to help others and honor God. Treat each hour as a "limited" gift.

Godly criticism is true and loving. It comes from a humble, caring heart that wishes the best for the other person. It's not bitter, condescending, insulting, or cold-hearted. "When weighing the faults of others, be careful not to put your thumb on the scale." #JudgingOthers

Adversity is an inevitable part of living in a fallen world, but God uses trials to build spiritual endurance, character, and a closer reliance on Him. The late entertainer Dolly Parton once said, "If you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain." God is our rainbow🌈. #Adversity

God judges the inner workings of the heart and mind, not just outward actions. Entertaining malicious thoughts is the first step towards ruin. Wicked plots lead to wandering and judgment, while "proactive" goodness invites God's steadfast character into a person's life. #God

Taking refuge in God shouldn't be just in times of calamity. It's believing, trusting, and being obediently faithful to Him everyday of our lives. Are we genuinely committed to Him; or masquerade around, as though we are? One can't fully know God's goodness from a distance 🙏. #RefugeinGod

Twenty-five years ago, the 9/11 terrorist attacks began on a blue-sky morning. As the result of this devastating event, many lost loved ones. I lost a high school classmate along with his family. Human life is brief, fragile, and uncertain. We must place our trust in God's hands. #September11th

Psalm 36:1-4, serves as a warning about how unchecked rebellion works. Sin is not just a collection of isolated mistakes; it's a deliberate state of mind that begins with ignoring God, moves to self-flattery, corrupt speech, and evolves into a calculated lifestyle. God sees all. #Sin

It should never come as a surprise that we'll endure trouble. We'll struggle, spiritually, financially, emotionally, or physically. We may be going through a trouble-free period now, but trouble will come when we least expect it. Trouble won't always last when we focus on Jesus. #Troubles

Psalm 32:6, urges believers to pray & seek God immediately while He's accessible. Don't wait for your heart to harden. God provides safety & protection when troubles or judgment rise up like a flood. Run to God in honest repentance & not swept away or drowned by catastrophes. #God

As we run our spiritual race, we have a tendency to head back to what God has rescued us from. We often look back at times of comfort or familiarity. When the spiritual journey gets difficult or uncertain, don't look back and crave for what you already know. Stay focused on God! #FocusOnGod

We may grow weary at times that fill us with sorrow. However, God doesn't want us to face the pain alone. He's with us 24/7. He comforts & gently reminds us through His Word, how much we're loved. He provides infallible verses for us to read & to meditate on during tough times. #Weary

Living in peace with everyone is an indispensable goal of the believer's life. We must always "turn away from evil & do good." Whether we've been wronged, or we're in the wrong. Jesus calls us to take the first step in restoring peace in our relationships. Seek & maintain peace! #Peacemaker

True reverence results in aligning our heart with God, is loving what He loves and not loving our sin. We can't genuinely claim to respect a holy God while harboring affection for the things that offend Him. Reverence and obedience should be our number one priority everyday. #God

When we shift our focus from current hardships to God's eternal promises, it's difficult to lose heart. Living by faith is the practice of trusting what God has promised in His Word over our temporary earthly problems. It means fixing our mind, hope, and values on God eternally. #EternalLife

Jeremiah 17:9 says, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" With every new dawn and every new sunset, we need to carefully examine whether our heart aligns with God. It starts with the heart. Real change is an inside job! #Heart

The Parable of the Rich Fool (Luke 12:13-21), is twofold. First, we're not to devote our lives to the accumulation of wealth. We can't take it with us when we die, & those who didn't earn it won’t appreciate it. Secondly, be a blessing for others & not let money be your master.

It's hard to conceive, but in a few days we'll be in another month. As we progress toward the end of the year & the beginning of another, it's important to evaluate how our time is spent. Our days on earth are finite, but when all is said and done, "Did you spend them with God? #PrayerandMeditation

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." In 1 Corinthians 10, the Apostle Paul, understood the value of learning from the past. He highlighted events from Israel's history to provide examples of spiritual realities & warn against sin. We must read & heed! #God

Stop relying only on your own power during hard times. Admit when you're weak & ask God for help. Exchange worry for trust. Give your worries to God instead of stressing over them. Think about when God previously helped you. Grow your faith everyday. Take quiet moments to pray. #RelianceonGod

When it comes to our Christian life, there's no substitute for authenticity. James reminds us that many Christians think they engage in real religion, but they're actually fooling themselves. True faith requires self-control, compassion, and a clean heart. God wants authenticity! #God

We live in a "microwave" society where people aren't patient and don't want to wait. Some of life's most important seasons happen while waiting. For instance, God draws us closer & shapes our hearts through seasons of waiting. We learn to trust God's timing, & wait on Him. #God

We devalue God when we push Him aside & rush through our days & take no time to meditate & pray. When we attempt to fix our problems & don't ask God for help. When we value sin, wealth, & status, more than integrity, kindness & grace. When we don't exhibit God's love to everyone. #PrayandMeditate

We live in a competitive fast paced world where it's a "dog-eat-dog" mentality where the world pushes us to strive to reach the top & says that "he who has the most toys wins." When Judgment Day comes, if our priorities & demeanor didn't align with Christ, it won't be heaven. #Godliness

An unbeliever has no interest in having more faith, or being made willing to obey. The believer knows their faith & obedience are always deficient, & frequently asks God to enable them to live a life pleasing to God. If left to our own strength & own faith, we wouldn't make it. #Belief
