And today was the day we played. They were going to kill the followers. I was so nervous I made 6 maps. Did my approach work? It did! Cool heads and a little push prevailed and we had a fantastic session with loads of drama and interactions.

So i sent out a text, outlining to players what is and isn't acceptible as well as how we will proceed next session - giving them enough time to plan accordingly. Some tensions were still there, but they were constructive conflicts.

I decided to cool down and then approach this again. We play weekly and due to scheduling had to skip one week. I spent that time thinking of what can, should and will happen. And how to make it happen. The player had decision paralysis made worse by my bad choices in communication.

Drama ensues and egos are bruised. He felt stupid and I felt like he never listened. Party is on my side, but we have been playing for such a long time, that splitting is not an option. We all have bad days.

They have reached the town in which his patron told him to kill followers of his rival. Sure thing. Now, the party wants to go elsewhere, he himself does not understand WHAT the is the value of doing what his patron wants and then I had to spell it out what is this value that he shouldve known

... This is even after multiple times of me correcting and giving strong hints that it is not the case. One of them was providing the name, as reward, of who took his children - and he never researched this at all. Naturally, this has to blow up in our faces eventually.

So, I had this awful situation that arose from bad communication. There are four players, one of them plays a warlock. The characters children after reaching a certain age would just disappear and his arc is to find them. The player was married to an idea of his patron being responsible for it...

Wait, you think that fall of USSR was a bad thing? And for smaller countries, that have suffered their oppression for decades, gaining protection from the aggressor was a mistake?

Baltic state inclusion in NATO was pivotal to their protection from Russian aggression. However, this was an agreement with them being classified as second class NATO states, as to not anger Russia and at that time it's was an agreement between NATO and Russia.
