Ser Nostradamus' name is not actually his. Such a name became so entwined with him due to his mythological association with being able to "predict the future." Nothing but battlefield embellishment.

His name was Hans von Ziegler.

He was a skilled swordsman. Able to read an opponent quickly. Attempts at fighting back were turned against the opponent almost instantly.

Impressive, undoubtedly.
Exhausting for an eternity.

Becoming a demon from his pact with the collective of the Tree of Knowledge, he quickly became a permanent member of Molinnaire's legion. No fear of death. Or need for physical rest.

Rather, he no longer had a physical body.

A sword made unbreakable yet forced to remain some sort of museum fixture. A knight who is no longer man. A suit of armor with a voice.

How large a part of that is an honorable warrior?
And where does it become eternal slavery?

All for the whims of an aging king, who unlike his revived legion, has an organic body, and not a demonically revived one.

This is no ordinary sword.

It's subtle green glow, and the occasional unnatural sheen hint at its more sinister nature. Faint whispers and wails emit from the blade, though it's not known whether these are legends and the result of air blowing through the rivet holes, or if the weapon truly houses innumerable spirits.

Being in the presence of this weapon is enough to warrant uneasiness. Not nausea. Not fear. One is made uncomfortable, like a haunted object should command.

It earned the name of Darkslayer, or Finstertöter, from its wielder's reputation. He claims his mission is to slay demons in the ninth circle. And that he crawled his way out of Hell.

Though chivalrous stories of heroism and other exploits are so often exaggerated people just believe the Shade to not be in his right mind, rather than tragic.

And in a way, they'd be correct.
No man enters hell and leaves complete.

Whether it's a missing arm. Heavy gash wounds.
Or a fragmented mind to cope with your new state of being.

You've been stabbed plenty. Bled many times. Yet still, you walk this earth. Lethal injury has proven ineffective.

Are you still in hell?

"An artifact like this is better left a mythical weapon, wielded by a madman with no regard for his life."

Father Tomes knows the other side. He knows belief isn't tested by morality. To believe means to persevere faith through adversity. To keep walking forward even when the road is invisible.

God was not there when Tomes was at his lowest.
No God is.
The only one there was him, and only he could pick himself back up. He had a choice - wither away to match he who wronged Graves, or recognize such a pursuit was harmful and eroding him.

To let go of anger is bitter.

Not all correct choices feel good - or look right. Not all bad choices feel wrong. Or look bad.

And that's what it means to have free will.

To Tomes, being Father is not a symbol of status, it's a showing of his commitment. Proof he made a choice that hurt deeply before he made another that hurt worse in the end.

To change hurts.
To erode kills.

To believe rebirths.

Centehua sat beaten and slumped over, chained to a chair at the center of the empty cell, atop a drain. Carefully, Odysseus approached her, and knelt down, to examine her. Gingerly, he lifted her head, while checking her pulse to find she was passed out, and bleeding from her ears. Or rather that was his first thought. In moving her hair to check the wound, he discovered that both ears had been cut off.
Pushing the flash of anger down, he gently probed her for any further damage and, finding nothing that would prevent safe movement, moved to the entrance. “She is chained and wounded, remove her.” Shoji and Kyoko nodded, and entered the room, as Odysseus moved to the pit where Khonsu was slicing away at the chains but the form within remained still.

“And most likely using those they captured as feed.” Shoji commented, still staring into the cage. The Warden made no comment, looking like they were resisting the urge to run.
As they entered the central area, Kyoko and Shoji began running opposite ends to look for Centehua, as Khonsu and Odysseus moved closer to the pit. “Get away from there, trust me!” The Warden cried, causing Odysseus to turn, however Khonsu peered down.
“There is someone down there.” Khonsu told them. At the center of the pit, was a small form, in a fetal position, legs shackled to the floor. Khonsu jumped down below without another word.
As Odysseus was about to call down to him, Shoji shouted, “I have found her!” Odysseus ran over, bringing their shaking prisoner with him by the neck, Kyoko joining them as well, where Shoji stood, next to an open cell.

They were met with the sound of a cacophony of violent beasts that was almost deafening. The entire chamber was shaped as a circle, centered around some sort of hole, the lightning no longer blue but an angry red, and reeked of the smell of blood and decay.
“By the Pharaoh...” Khonsu muttered, as he stepped in further, covering his nose with one arm. “What horrid nightmare have we entered?”
“The suits called it the Forge.” The Warden muttered, looking uncomfortable.
“I said do not speak.” Odysseus warned her one final time, approaching one of the cells, Kyoko and Shoji approaching two more, Khonsu staying with their prisoner. Inside was a creature he was well familiar with, as he had hunted them before with Cressida. “No....”
“Chimera.” Kyoko hissed, spinning towards Odysseus. “The mad fools are creating Chimera.”

“Yeah....I mean yes, my lord.” She muttered. “The musician right? We have her down below in the arena floor with the....” she gulped. “The monsters.”
The questions grew, but Odysseus did not have the time to have them answered. He pulled the Warden from Khonsu, and handed them to Kyoko, causing a gasp to come from the Warden at the sight of the looming masked figure. “If she attempts to run, or leads us into an ambush, slice her tendons.”
“It will be done, my lord.” Kyoko responded coldly.
Pushing their captive to the front of the group, they followed her deeper into the facility, meeting little resistance which matched her assurance that they were operating on a skeleton crew at the moment. “But there’s rumors that we’re going to be ramping up, with the success of the monster.”
“Stop speaking.” Odysseus clicked, as they were led to a large chamber.
