Nowhere in this writeup does it say anything about his religion, but I think if he were Jewish it would have bene mentioned... Judging contextually, this guy sounds like a Christian Zionist fanatic, who along with heiling Hitler are known for appropriating Jewish traditions:

How do you have that yellow-bellied coward Jack Black there, as not the get-out-the-vote GOAT, by which of course I mean the New York Gay Men's Choir? "We're gonna vote vote vote it's our moment..."

"postwar Japan retained a deep institutional aversion to strong intelligence organizations because of memories of wartime repression and the suppression of civil liberties" Now, they don't. Why? A key reason being the current, blatantly fascist MAGA allied coalition govt. this is good, right?

In the treaty that ended ww2, Japan lost all the islands: and then, in 1953 the US unilaterally gave them to Japan to spite China. It was unjust to give Japan these islands to 'administer'. That's why China and Taiwan still claim the islands: and why Luchu people deserve justice and sovereignty.

I tried to translate but it came out bad... I found the Ukrainians response to be outrageous, and it frankly angered me. This was a very interesting reply from pres. Lee, and I read it a few times because it's such a carefully couched by fierce rebuke, or am I misreading it?

svl @droseph.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
I find Ukraine's response baffling! They seem uninterested in understanding or respecting Seoul's position. And Lee's rebuke: "Those who harm lives and national security for trivial personal gain are called murderers or traitors. It is wrong to condemn reasonable and justified confidential measures"

Look at this reply from the President of South Korea: I had to read the whole statement a few times. "Those who harm lives and national security for trivial personal gain are called murderers or traitors. It is wrong to condemn reasonable and justified confidential measures.”
President Lee criticized, “Regardless of inter-Korean relations, casualties, or national interest damage, those who prioritize showcasing achievements would have loudly advertised the prisoner repatriation. From their perspective, our government’s efforts to keep this confidential might seem incomprehensible, even suspicious. Those who harm lives and national security for trivial personal gain are called murderers or traitors. It is wrong to condemn reasonable and justified confidential measures.”

Great summary of where we are and how we got here. Imagine living under this. no wonder the SK hate THADD so much: "American nuclear warheads were stationed in the South until 1991; at their peak they numbered 763, and rehearsals for their use were part of US military exercises on the peninsula."

Bleak.
Excerpt from the linked article by Nathan Grayson:

"All of this betrays a simplistic mindset that does not accurately reflect the reality of game development: People are disposable, studios are interchangeable, and series can be traded like sports teams. Nothing matters more than franchises and their money-printing prowess. Unless, evidently, you are Hideo Kojima, in which case Microsoft suddenly has money to burn."

Good writeup of the regional dynamics at play in the recent Houthi advance. This war has the potential to spread across the Persian Gulf to the horn of Africa and ignite a trans-regional conflict, on top of the economic crisis that will topple regimes across the globe. and there's no end in sight.

This was the target back in 2019 that shocked everybody: the largest and most valuable oilfields in the kingdom, just 300 km or so to the NE of Riyadh. It led to Saudi temporarily shutting down half of its entire oil production.

It's telling that Stokes was an advisor to Joe Biden while he was VP. Of note, is true the true AI cultist's obsession with the fantasy that we are in a race to create a super intelligent machine-god mind. That is his justification for why serious ppl should entertain all our war with China.
010
svl @droseph.bsky.social · 05/09/2026
Ofc he was a Biden guy. Also, not discussed enough: much of their cult belief is rooted in the idea that we are on the path to create a super intelligent machine god, which is driving these kinds of ludicrous, suicidal schemes presented as something serious policy people should be thinking about.
"AGI, or artificial general intelligence, refers to the theoretical point at which an AI model achieves human, or superhuman, levels of reasoning and intelligence. Though the science is still out on whether such a system is even possible, Stokes’ report begins from the assumption that AGI is inevitable, and that if the US can’t get to it first, its military needs to prepare to take drastic action."

It brings me back to the infamous Ron Suskind interview w/ W officials in 2004: "We're and empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality..." Liberals at the time mocked these remarks, but this view, allegedly expressed by Karl Rove, reflects exactly how up our own asses American power is.

you're talking about Jonathan Weisman of the NYT, not David Weigel. www.politico.com/story/2019/0...
"The New York Times demoted a high-ranking Washington editor on Tuesday in response to his “serious lapses in judgment” on social media, a spokesperson for the paper said.

Jonathan Weisman, who joined the Times in 2012 and most recently served as deputy Washington editor, sparked multiple outrages on Twitter in recent weeks. He deleteda July 31 tweet implying that two congresswomen of color, Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), weren’t really from the Midwest and that Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), the Alabama-born civil rights leader, wasn’t from the Deep South."
