The prevalence of Sickle Cell disease/trait in the community is alarmingly high, with a test positivity rate of 24.7% in St. Mary's Hospital Lacor catchment area. To help reduce the disease burden, it is crucial to prioritize Sickle Cell screening before marriage.

I am incredibly proud of this intern, Dr. Ecuut, who has made remarkable strides in PD & catheter placement. In this photo, Dr. Ecuut successfully placed the catheter & performed dialysis on a critically ill 8y/F. Thanks to this effort, the child is now on the path to recovery

It's a busy night in the ICU St. Mary's Hospital Lacor as this dedicated team performs #peritonealdialysis on a toddler brought unconscious with malaria-induced acute kidney injury (AKI). With unwavering energy and hope, we pray that our efforts will be blessed with a positive outcome.
