I always have to reiterate once again that getting these vaccinations DOES NOT 100% prevent the disease. It is there to ensure that if you do get them, you’re not sitting in an ER vs enjoying the holidays. This message has not changed in decades.

It also takes your body 2 weeks to develop those cute antibodies to fight those fun pathogens and pending on several factors (age, general health, etc) your protection will wane over time. So my timing (I’m in my 40’s and healthy) will allow me to have protection thru the holidays.

For those asking if it’s fine to get the flu shot now: technically anytime is fine, but optimal time to get the flu shot corresponds to what we’ve established as pretty solid patterns of elevated flu activity (mid-late October+). For me? I scheduled to get both the flu and Covid vax early October

It’s safe to say that Pebble and Bucket are very much bonded and adore each other. Seeing the two play/sleep/rough house with each other always makes me tear up a little as it was something I knew Bucket wanted from Mako, but due to her age/illness, she wasn’t able to. I love these two so much

The other worst type of person on this planet - Those who "review" products but instead will give low ratings b/c of other issues not related to the actual product. Perhaps I just want to see actual reviews of the movie? This is why I've stopped caring about Amazon reviews.

In that same year, I also had to say goodbye to my cat mako, who passed away after courageously battling cancer for half the year. She was the 2nd cat I ever had to say goodbye to and it destroyed me. I still sob at seeing the food she use to eat the store. Even just a random creak in the house

Today marks the 1 year anniversary where I was illegally fired amongst thousands of other US federal employees. I had worked for more than 10 years in the service of the US federal government and while it had its rough times, I loved this job. And on that day, it was all taken away from me.
