BBC are reporting issues with pelvic floor mesh devices. Polypropylene mesh cause adhesions and activated immune responses. We need biomimetic prosthesis with no long term immune response. My PhD reviewed the literature and proposed affordable solutions. lnkd.in/gqnRwj5 lnkd.in/ekeYSPew

I enjoyed attending my first BMSS ambient ionisation meeting in Nottingham yesterday. It was great to see so many familiar faces and get to meet some new ones! #BMSS #AmbientIonisation

MALDI is such a great technique. A few years ago, I was profilling historic sinew to identify the species of origin using ZooMS methodologies. This kind of work can be done easily on the MALDI-8020 from Shimadzu. I know this because I did it with samples from the British Museum. #MALDI #Shimadzu

This story stirred up strong feelings.. I explained to my family that science is the concensus between researchers testing each other, pushing forward through time consuming research... Not as sexy as click bait stories "the secret big pharma don't want you to know.." www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I had a great week attending Metabomeeting! Lots of fascinating talks on metabolism and data analysis that builds great confidence in the research of our peers. At these meetings researchers get their opportunity to present and gain the recognition they deserve. #Liverpool #Metabomeeting2024
