I evaluated a family who had applied for asylum and provided court testimony. I heard today that the petition was granted. I am grateful for the opportunities I have to make a difference in the lives of immigrant families through my career. We must preserve America as the land of hope.

I worked with an immigrant family and when I told them memories of my dad’s small farm when he was in the military and we were stationed in southern Peru (as a way to build rapport), they wanted to invite me to their farm so I could get some fruits and vegetables. Immigrants are good people.
