It seems evident to me this writer knew little beyond the basics of wrestlings and the idea of "wrestlers die young" and made next to zero effort to actually research or learn. Perhaps he got his anti-AEW attack from a WWE source but it was so poorly put together it doesn't really even matter.

Any good writer worth their salt mentions it even as an aside in parentheses. The jump from that to Jesse Ventura and unionization in wrestling was especially jarring because it felt like the start of a third seperate article.

The implication that AEW has had some kind of unusually high number of wrestler deaths in its short history while only mentioning Pac and Andy Williams and the not the other two men whose causes of death cannot be linked to the business is particularly galling.

There is no argument one can string together where those names present some kind of pattern. It's a rather random assortment of names. The writer than weaves into asserting that AEW is somehow particularly neglectful of its wrestlers with no actual evidence of such beyond vague quotes.

But it read more like an overview of wrestling's history of premature deaths and even that was shoddy at best. Mentioning Gorgeous George and Fabulous Moolah in the same breath as Eddie Guerrero, Randy Savage, and Miss Elizabeth made no logical sense.

As writer both for the Torch and just in general this wasn't just an attempted hit piece, it was poorly constructed one. What was the actual argument the author was trying to make? Yeah there were the insinuations about AEW being particularly careless about wrestler health
