OPTION Trial: LAAC resulted in sign less non-procedure-related major bleeding than OAC after catheter-based AF ablation. Similar rates stroke, systemic embolism, or death observed btw groups. LAAC could be safer alternative to OAC for stroke prevention. #AHA24 @ahascience.bsky.social

In pts with a history of ischemic cardiomyopathy and ventricular tachycardia, using a first-line catheter ablation procedure instead of anti-arrhythmic drug therapy resulted in a reduction of the composite endpoint, which included death or serious arrhythmia outcomes. #AHA24 @ahascience.bsky.social

Compared with placebo, weekly tirzepatide injections in patients with HFpEF and obesity demonstrated reductions in combined risk of cardiovascular death or worsening of heart failure events with improved health status. Medication cost will be the limiting factor. #AHA24 @ahascience.bsky.social

Reconditioned pacemaker devices using an FDA-approved protocol are non-inferior to new ones. Pacemaker reconditioning could enhance access to pacemaker therapy for patients who are unable to obtain a new device due to financial constraints. #AHA24 @ahascience.bsky.social
