Bienvenue dans la France qui considère que parler de "grand remplacement" relève de la liberté d'expression mais qu'il n'est pas possible de qualifier de "génocide" les actions d'Israël envers les Palestiniens.

Sure, but all the problems I had on Linux were somehow easier to fix 🤷‍♀️

This experience also taught me how important coding is to me. I love to make things but I also love to #code It’s part of the fun, part of what I enjoy, it’s part of me This is how I want to incorporate #AgenticProgramming into my workflow Thanks for reading. Take care and do what you love 14/14

Working with smaller models taught me how to truly work with #agents and how crucial #context is. I no longer prompt "Here's a bug, fix it." Instead, I code with an omp.sh session as my assistant, not my "slave." This experience is far healthier and refreshing. 13/14
omp.sh
omp — a coding agent with the IDE wired in
Subagents, plan mode, LSP, DAP, hindsight memory, hashline edits, time-traveling rules — with a native Rust engine doing the heavy lifting.

Since then, I've chosen to work with "less-capable" #LLM like #Mistral (because it's 🇫🇷 and far cheaper) and try to tame my #agentic #workflow, just as I once tamed my #coding workflow. 12/14

Then, I saw this video: tinyurl.com/mszyjs7h @mariozechner.at (may God bless him) is very inspiring in this talk. I discovered his work on pi.dev and it gave me hope. I felt the same thrill I had when I first discovered #neovim and built my own setup. It was fantastic. 11/14

Building pi in a World of Slop — Mario Zechner
All I wanted was a shitty coding agent that is truly mine. And I’d have loved to just tell you why and how I built pi. But then Peter decided to make it the agentic core of OpenClaw. And now pi is collateral. So yes, this is a talk about pi. But it is also a talk about how agents are destroying OSS, how I deal with that, and a plea to slow the fuck down. https://x.com/badlogicgames https://github.com/badlogic https://www.linkedin.com/in/mariozechner/ Timestamps 0:00 – Intro and motivation for building pi 0:29 – Act 1: Building pi and the frustration with existing agent harnesses 1:56 – Why current context management in tools like Cloud Code and Open Code fails 4:44 – The importance of minimal harnesses and the "Terminal" benchmark 5:35 – Introducing pi: A self-modifying, extensible agent core 7:27 – The "YOLO" security philosophy and extensibility through TypeScript 9:03 – Examples of pi extensions (chat rooms, NES, Doom) 10:46 – Act 2: OSS in the age of "clankers" and how to fight them 12:03 – Act 3: A plea to slow down and stop the "slop" in software development 13:58 – How agents create "enterprise-grade complexity" and why humans are still the bottleneck 16:12 – Practical advice: How to effectively integrate agents into your workflow

I was desperate. I needed a break from my project. It wasn’t fun anymore. I canceled my #ClaudeCode subscription and hated what my life had become. 10/14

For the first time in my life as a #SoftwareEngineer, I shipped something I didn't understand Resulting in a succession of bugs I had no idea how to fix 9/14

In the end, I shipped a beta of my platform, but I *hated* it. I hated what it represented: frustration, laziness, fatigue. I HATED how #ClaudeCode alienated me from my own code. Maybe I'm a control freak, but I couldn't understand what I'd shipped. 8/14

And it worked! At first, I was pleased to see #ClaudeCode take initiative: adding a button here, tweaking text style there... But soon, it felt more like an untamed horse than a coding assistant (not to call it a "slave") 7/14

In only 2 weeks, #ClaudeCode did what took me 2 months. I was baffled by its effectiveness. I kept """ #VibeCoding """ my project for the next 2 months, just checking the app worked. 6/14

As a #solodev in my startup, I had to ship fast; no 1-2 months per feature. I needed to show results in weeks, not months. This is why I took the Max x5 subscription (~€100/month) with #ClaudeCode; it kept its word: fast shipping. But at what cost? 5/14

I was one of those who thought #LLM was pure black magic. I was wrong. Tools like #ClaudeCode came when I was mentally drained. The promise of #CodingAgent —working faster with less effort —was exactly what I needed. 4/14

But unlike compilers a #LLM won't tell you that you're doing shit Wait, I know guardrails and other sorts of safety mechanisms exist but still by nature a model will avoid any friction for the user resulting in a bouquet of answers like "You're absolutely right", "Your vision is correct" etc 3/14

I do reckon this is a revolution comparable to the introduction of compilers back in the days: Everyone's using it — yet they know so little about how they fundamentally work —, throwing their prompts at it as we used to throw our code into compilers, praying for it to work on the first try 2/14

Lorsque c'est une bonne idée de réécrire en Rust, et lorsque ça n'a pas trop d'intérêt… Beaucoup de bon sens, mais la pédagogie n'est-ce pas répéter différemment les mêmes choses ? 😁

Rewriting the world in Rust — Bitfield Consulting
The world runs on legacy code—hundreds of millions of lines of it. Can we rewrite it all in Rust? And is that even a good idea?
