A patient told me her sister wanted to come see me but was told by the insurance company that I was “only” a 4-star provider and couldn’t recommend me. There’s just one 5-star in-network provider in the entire state. I guess the plaques on the wall are worthless. 🙄😒🫠 #medsky

I remember seeing a toddler in the clinic, and a mom said, “I’m surprised she’s not scared of you because she’s never seen a black person before.” I told her that fear is taught, not innate. She was soon fired as a nurse for shooting dope on the job months later. But I was the one to be feared 😒

The most baffling patient is one who is hysterical about how horrible they feel and is now ready to fix their health. I listen, wipe their tears, examine, labs, meds, follow-up plan…all the things. Then, poof…disappears. No portal sign-up, ignores phone calls, doesn't follow up. Why waste my time!!!

I had to remind a patient of mine on disability, Medicare, and food stamps and voted for Trump that democrats are the only reason why he can see me for free, eat, and has money to stay housed. Interestingly he didn’t disagree. Sometimes poor white people forget that they are “those people”.
