I was lucky enough to volunteer yesterday at the Hikoi with Treaty Action Group. Thankfully my first aid skills were barely needed. We greeted people arriving at the railway station where joyful reunions were commonplace and multi-generational whānau celebrated each other.

Wellington's congestion is fed by 3 cities full of commuters priced out of living closer to work. Building more commuter suburbs does nothing to fix the route cause of congestion. Density and connectivity are ecologically and economically better. Shorter pipes are cheaper!
