Great work by ELSO and collaborators to make this! ECMO-lovers what do people think of this?

As you can see many patients don’t have a murmur and there was delay in initiating ECMO…

Cardiac causes of neonatal collapse: biggest case series from #PedsICU looking at initial ED presentation to final cardiac diagnosis on PICU: L-sided lesions causing shock are under recognised in ED. bmjpaedsopen.bmj.com/content/bmjp...

Great talk at #SWAAC #ELSO by Indira Jayakumar on when to change an #ECMO circuit. This slide could also represent most stuff related to #PICU #PedsICU ECMO

Use VIS as trigger to initiate ECMO discussions in #PedsICU and change mindset post-cardiac surgery #MedSky

An honour to speak at #SWAAC #ELSO #AbuDhabi on when to put an infant on #ECMO. Neuro injury concerns delay ECMO initiation and then deterioration leads to loss of cerebral autoregulation. Use ECMO to support the patient and not as a rescue therapy when 👶 post-arrest or in multi-organ-failure.

As long as your chest compressions and bagging are effective then indefinitely. We have done ECMO from CPR and it is one of the things we are continually monitoring to ensure CPR is effective prior to ECMO which can take an hour.

Hi Blue Sky! My first and most important post: If you intubate a patient in cardiac arrest you should see a CO2 Trace. No Trace= Wrong Place I write as latest edition of APLS (which I fully support) is wrong. Please share #MedSky #PICU
