Watched goldeneye again, which made an impact on me when I was a kid, Russia in turmoil. And to see Arecibo again brings pain to my heart. It’s horrible to have destructively lost that space radiotelescope to mismanagement and lack of funding.

There is good stuff out there too. Papers I remember fondly are those from before the 1990s, with a part 1 and part 2, explaining in detail what they did over three years of experimentation. Papers these days seem too thin, making wild claims on too little and tenuous evidence. I’m just getting old
