Heartbroken today. Peter Westbrook has passed away. A New Jersey native, he began fencing in high school at Essex Catholic in East Orange, an all-boys Catholic high school in East Orange. He won a bronze medal as a member of the US Olympic team and 3 Pan-American golds in mens’ sabre. 1/2

These are white baking pumpkins. I roasted them in prep for pumpkin pie (my brother and my kids love pumpkin pie). It’s amazingly easy to make pumpkin pie from scratch and gives me tremendous joy.

It’s been 22 years (crazy that it has been that long) since Mom passed. And now, it’s been almost 6 months since we lost Dad. There are so many emotions tied to being an orphan. In my Mom’s case, I had grandparents longer than I had both my parents. I miss these two. Every day. Love you both. ❤️

I took this photo from a cruise ship in July 2000. I had no idea that just over a year later, these buildings would be brought down by terrorists. I was an MS1 at NJMS on 9/11, and we could see everything from the roof of the deck. I will never forget the events of that fateful day. #NeverForget
