Chomsky in 2016 yukking it up with Jeffrey Epstein about the nature of power. Horrifying, pathetic, ironic. www.justice.gov/epstein/file...
Most recent emails first. From: "jeffrey E." To: Noam Chomsky I concede sexism. and she does open the door for you. so i stand corrected :) trying to guess the mind state of another is i believe part of cognitive development. sympathy makes it sound sweet, unless you mean manipulation and exploitation of the weaker also qualifes as "sympathy" I think that this desire to know the state, gets carried away and people see mindstates in inanimate objects. or pets. even a blind or deaf person attempts to have a shared understanding to either protect themselves or FEED I spoke yesterday to trivers. who said you shared an interview with him and Seed magazine. ( i was the money behind, it failed) Noam Chomsky 4 > wrote: | Sexist. How do you know that she didn't move the furniture while I told her when and where Hobbes vs. Adam Smith. Hobbes: life is a war. Smith: the fundamental human motive is sympathy (including his term "invisible hand," invariably misunderstood. Reminds me of a quip of Quine's about origin of language: it was invented so that we wouldn't just hit each other. jeffrey E. wrote:

It's your term as I see it Chomsky vs the dubes
Living systems need energy hence they FEED. Plants vegetables all try to protect themselves. Skin oisons, etc. I believe the best benefit to cost ratio relies on Deception And to know the mind of th redator or prey, language is the tool. It allows a shared understanding of mental objects, mental state and mental actions. Noam Chomsky < Great term. Can I plagiarize it? > wrote: I guess one could say that a lion and a gazelle have competing powers, but it somehow seems misleading. All living systems? How about Valeria and I furnishing our apartment together (I became an expert or ugs)? Or Morris and I writing a book together? terestingly, I finished off the brisket and pretty much the corned beef but am saving the pastrami.More recent first. Some from end of previous screenshot. Gre ustard and bread too. The only problem is that the dog goes berserk unless I give her little pieces. Mu have Jewish genes. jeffrey E. wrot I will now credit you with the derivation. Do a new term. - Dube Data usage based enthusiasts Noam Chomsky wrote Every act is is power in some small way. But the sense relevant to those who write about power --Morgenthau, Russell, etc. is coercive power. Like my telling my dog right now that I can't play with her. How about putting an animal with a human auditory and visual system in the same room as a human infant a chimp for example. And see if it can learn speech or sign the way the infant does. Acquisition of speech and sign are remarkably simllar. And we know that even with huge training efforts, which the infant doesn't need at all, results for the chimp will be zero. But interestingly, the facts as usual have no interest to the data-processing usage-based enthusiasts.
jeffrey E.nwrote: Even if far it could act as a North Star., power has many properties those might me some . Is the ability to care for many Power? Is the ability to find new medicines power. How about a challenge that says put a thing in a room and see if can learn a language .?
Noam Chomsky wrote Thinking about it. Keep realizing that I'm not Hilbert, and linguistics isn't 20th century math. The exciting problems I can think of are either too far from current understanding, or too theory-internal for the general significance to be easily perceived. Meanwhile, ran across a nice definition of "power," thinking about an earlier letter that you may have forgotten. From Hans Morgenthau: Power in the international context is "that untamed and barbaric force which finds its laws in nothing but its own strength and its sole justification in its own aggrandizement."

Note that the first set of messages redacts Bannon’s name and this second set reproduces the same messages but redacts Epstein’s. www.justice.gov/epstein/file...
Different kind of iMessage transcript with text bubbles. Steve Bannon corresponding with a redacted contact. After a few earlier messages the conversation from the previous photos is reproduced.Steve Bannon’s messages with redacted contact, same texts as Jeffrey Epstein’s messages with redacted contact earlier in this thread.Steve Bannon’s messages with redacted contact. Again, the messages match the earlier photos in this thread.

The date of these messages appears to match the day that BuzzFeed News reported that Trump directed Michael Cohen to lie to Congress. Then Robert Mueller’s team shocked everyone and released a statement saying that the BuzzFeed story had inaccuracies. www.politico.com/story/2019/0... …
More iMessages. Contact: “Why?” Epstein: “You are on the cusp. The movement has gigantic potential.. as do you. dems are crazed and dangerous. More when I see you.” Contact: “K.”More iMessages. Contact: “Agree btw.” Epstein: “Cruel irony, but it was Rudy that first understood the power of the rico laws.” Contact: “The mob, then Millken.”More iMessages. Epstein: “they call for treble damages.” Then Epstein sends a block quote characterizing RICO.

In the Epstein files, I found a couple of iMessage transcripts that seem to suggest that Steve Bannon was discussing with Epstein the possibility of Bannon going away to Europe before the Mueller Report was to come out?! Has this been previously reported? www.justice.gov/epstein/file... …
Screenshot from the Epstein Files: iMessage transcripts between Jeffrey Epstein’s email and a redacted contact. Epstein: “If you are going to do Europe you will need to do it soon, unlikely to be able in March.” Mystery contact: “Surreal.”iMessages continue. Epstein: “Firestorm in March.” Mystery person: “Burck thinks I should pass.” Epstein: “Longer discussion.”Epstein: “Not sure you will get traction if it seems you are over there hiding.” Contact: “Defiance not hiding — been there done that.” Epstein: “Agreed. Not from this side, from Europe side.”More iMessages. Contact: “ummm.” Epstein: “If they indict trump org. You will have some decisions to make quickly. Two stools won’t work. Either all in or all out.”

Googling symptoms in the middle of the night hits different now
A screenshot of a US government website, “Current Dietary Guidelines,” with a notice at the top: “Due to the Radical Left Democrat shutdown, this government website will not be updated during the funding lapse. President Trump had made it clear he wants to keep the government open and support those who feed, fuel, and clothe the American people.”
