The animals appear to be occupying at least 80% of the space

We've got to know people in there through their dogs; knew the dogs' names before we knew the owners'. Now we see them out and about with their hounds and stop for a chat.

My local is very dog friendly. Dog bowls of water available at all times and a jar of dog treats on the bar.

Dreadful - particularly as there is absolutely no other way of getting around in London except by car!

You would indeed - you'd not be able to resist those little furry faces and the sob stories they had!

Aw bless! You've clearly taken great care of him; he looks the picture of health now. The rescue centre obviously knew how good you are with animals. Many happy returns to Laoch!

In the UK, scampi is breaded and deep fried!

She was a kind and generous woman. Her bag of books initiative was wonderful. RIP Dolly!

I thought it might have been Spooky! She loves her grandad.

Our Mork sleeps beside me and wakes me up during the night for a cuddle.

My go to place for electrical goods! Very good service, and competitive prices.

In looks, he epitomises the Irish term 'a wee sleeveen'!

How does Angus feel about this development?

A very selective type of Christianity, that seems to overlook the concept of 'Love thy neighbour'...

As a friend and colleague once described someone we both knew through work - 'a professional brain picker'. The woman we was always asking us (and others) for info & ideas and copying our initiatives, but never wanted to share any of her knowledge/skills.

Aw, one of the shy ones! Our Mork is shy and nervous, and usually runs and hides if anyone comes to the house. But he's very loving with us. Wakes me up in the night when he wants a cuddle.

Aw bless him - he loves his Dad. But I am sure he was well looked after by your daughter while you were away.

I'm old enough to have a free bus pass too, but I think this fare capping is a great idea, esoecially for those on tight budget. Also, oeople might realise it could be cheaper to take the bus than to drive and pay for parking.

Does Angus stay with your daughter when you go on your travels?

Hmm, our first cat was a neutered female, but she sprayed when she was annoyed or stressed 😒

Our lovely local butcher sells a mix of pork and beef mince as 'ragu mince' and I've been using that recently. I agree that it's lighter, and I now prefer it in bolognese sauce. I add finely diced carrots, onion and garlic, so get 4 servings from 500g of mince.

Maybe look into pet bereavement services/counselling, e.g. www.bluecross.org.uk/pet-loss-sup... Blaze was so much part of your life for nearly 15 years - it's no wonder you are grieving his loss.

Mork and Mindy, who are medium haired, have had far more tats and mats this year than they usually do. Some years seem to be like that!

The whole system has become toxic; the media seem hell-bent on making life as difficult as possible for whoever takes over as PM.

I agree! She'd already got on the wrong side of him by taking the Pope's side when the MM criticised the pontiff. The MM can't take anyone disagreeing with him.

The Irish 'Boys in Green' - sadly not at this tournament - are the same. They certainly enjoy a drink, but generally in a good-humoured, non-violent and inoffensive way. And the Scotland fans seem to having a whale of a time at this World Cup.

Aw, look at them! Angus curled up right next to fake fur Blaze - bless! All three of you are grieving in your own way. Look after one another, cuddles together will help.

I'm Irish, so talking to people on buses and so on is natural. And here in NE England it is the same. But once, in London, I offered to assist a young mum, struggling down steps with a baby in a buggy and a toddler by the hand. She looked at me as if I was mad or dangerous and declined all help.

They do this wherever they go - it was the same at the Olympics. Friends who have visited Japan have commented on the culture of taking your rubbish home and how clean the streets abd public transport are,

Made this last night, using wholegrain mustard, as we enjoy the crunch of the seeds. It was delicious and as there are just 2 of us, I used less pasta and have frozen half the sauce for another day. Our local butcher sells nice Italian sausages, flavoured with fennel seeds, parsley and white wine.

Such a gorgeous boy - it is plain to see that he loves his dad and his dad loves him.

DrElaine @drelaine.bsky.social · 08/06/2026
This looks really nice. By coincidence, had just taken some Italian style sausages out of the freezer. I was going to make a bolognese-style sauce to serve with penne pasta, but might try this one instead!
