Would you like some pelicans?

A decrepit pier with mostly posts remaining in calm water and a blue sky with only a single wispy white cloud. Nearly every post has a pelican roosting on it.

Fun mail day. New book by @brandonsanderson.com. Adorable plush. Sticker sheet. The concussion slug is so soft. It’s a good size too.

Hardcover copy of BRIGHTFALL: RIFTWAKE 01 by Brandon Sanderson and Janci Patterson standing upright on a desk.

To the right is a black and bright blue plush slug nearly as tall.

In front of the book on the desk is a sheet of stickers depicting known species of Taynix (alien slugs) in an array of different colours.

Updated those two questions to 'Other' and this is what we get. Key change is less in common with Montana and southern Oregon/northern California.

A slightly different map of the area my idiolect best matches, with the sharpest resemblance spreading across from Wisconsin and the west (including Alaska) and least like Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

Bubbler sealed it. And apparently Terrace. There were a few that it didn't give you 'I use both of these' or 'I use one or more of these' where I was forced to pick one. I might go back and change those to 'Other' to see if that shifts things much.

Grabbing a late (for me) lunch on my day off. It’s so nice when the tiny local spot is busy.

I hung my second rack. I've done a complete re-org of the wooden shelf and the wall racks. All Chessex sets are boxed and on the racks (exception, 2 mini sets in single box in lower right). I still need to print labels for a bunch, but they’re up there. Cont.

On the left, two clear plastic nail polish racks full of a spectrum of polyhedral dice hang on the wall. The top row has sets in lab tube style storage, while the remainder are in standard plastic dice boxes. The top row and bottom row have a small amount of open space remaining.
On the right is a small wooden shelving unit with three shelves of polyhedral dice. The bottom shelf has clear plastic tubes, the center shelf has a mixture of black Dispel Dice boxes and some dice tubes in multiple colours. The top shelf is full of black Dispel Dice boxes. The top of the shelving unit serves as an additional shelf which has more clear plastic tubes of dice.
A shelf of pop vinyl figures can be seen half out of the top of the frame, a fake plant is coming in from the lower left, and the upper left as a blue and while plastic 'ball' light.

Essek got scared earlier (a friend came over and there was Stranger Danger) and burrowed under the covers on my bed to hide. That was like 4 hours ago. The little goober has since just stretched out and napped there all afternoon. This was my wellness check.

A screenshot showing Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett and the text:
Donald Trump had the racist, bigoted audacity to post an AI-generated video depicting former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as apes.

Most of us already know who Donald Trump is. We already know there are no bounds to how low he's willing to go. We know that he has no moral compass. We know that he is a disgrace. So while his behavior is not shocking, it is certainly disgusting and disturbing.

But when will it be enough for those who continue to stand beside him? When will Republicans in Congress condemn his behavior? Your silence is complicity - and it is very loud.

Who said it? You decide. 😁 Simon Lorden (from Seanan McGuire's OCTOBER DAYE series) or Simon, the cat (named after the book character): "My brother smells weird and I’m afraid to walk past him."

Did some recent reorg of this particular rack of dice & finished labeling some newer sets. The only unlabeled sets are two sets that likely don't have a name as they are only available in the Chessex Pound-of-Dice, & some custom Star Trek dice @arielleishere.bsky.social made for me (bottom right).

One thing I wish I could change is the size of these buttons. When using the Bookmarks Bar, that area gets a little cluttered and having the buttons be so small is causing me to mis-click a bit. Even a 25% size increase would probably fix it for me.

I just sleeved all of @jenniferbrozek.bsky.social’s DEAR PENPAL, BELGIUM 1980 and put it in a binder. No risk of losing any of the letters this way, and super handy for re-reading. (I may eventually add the stickers to my stash if they get annoying in the sleeves with the colouring pages.

The binder open to the colouring page from Letter 1 (left side) and page 1 of Letter 2 (right side, green paper). Some colourful stickers are also loosely in the sleeve with the colouring page.

I need to have a better (thicker) guide than the transparent post it I’m currently using, but aside from that throwing off vertical alignment, I’m doing well with my practice. I figured this quote was a good way to show off how I’m doing (I’ve got other phrases that have turned out better).

Finally read the final letter from @jenniferbrozek.bsky.social’s “Dear Penpal, Belgium 1980”. This was such a fun story to get in the mail over the past year.

A stack of 24 business sized envelopes in a slightly fanned out stack on top of a pale green laptop case.

The top envelope shows the return address mark of a large house and “Dear Penal, Belgium 1980”.

The lower left corner of the top envelope reads “Letter 24 of 24”. The lower left corner of the very bottom envelope can be seen and reads “Letter 1 of 24”.

A black iPod classic in a black silicone case rests on top of the stack covering the address and postal barcode.
