When one side is obstructionist... It is hard to get things done. When the other side is trying to govern in good faith, they are more likely to give in to unreasonable compromise just to help people. The GOP has been acting this way at least since Newt Gingrich in the 90s, maybe longer.

I am actually a big believer in an opposition party who can critically review the proposals of the other side. But the GOP has become obstructionist for real governing and enabling of corruption and incompetence. They're holding the firehose that could put out the fire but they just stand there.

I also read an interesting post in reddit that posited that the drive for Panama, Greenland, and Canada is due to shipping lanes. Because of climate change, the arctic will be opening up for shipping. If you can control how goods get around the world... You control the world economy.

We got a BMW i4 last month. That brings the family to 2 ev cars and 1 ice car. I am not sure I am ready to go full electric. There are a few cases where gas is useful.

With all the oil and gas that this administration will be pushing, it's no wonder they are trying to take over Greenland and Canada. That's where we will go when climate change turns America into a flooding wreck or a burning wasteland in a few years.
