I was at Bird & Blend, and came away with like 5 new teas #noregrets maps.app.goo.gl/CnX27EJzNDnW... Do you not have tea shops in your region? 💔
An interior shot of the Bird & Blend tea shop on Grainger Street in Newcastle upon Tyne. A long counter bears many large jars of tea blends, with four densely stocked shelves of more jars lining the wall behind it, and ends in a truncated L shape stocked with boxes of tea and accoutrements. A few small white bistro style tables and chairs face the counter, each set with paper menus and glasses of of bright red iced fruit teas with striped straws.

😂😂 from an author on Threads
A Threads post by author V.T. Hoang.
"Not going to yuck anyone's yum. Fantasy is fantasy. But I'm never going to write teacher-student relations for two personal reasons:
1. Ew
2. I work with 17-19 year olds. Those are children. Straight up. Those are babies. Those are literal toddlers. Those are smol, wobbly beans. I've seen a student sniff a plate of e.coli (notoriously bad smelling) and proceed to gag for twenty minutes and then also contract e.coli. No prefrontal cortex."

(Look I never said I was going to reply on a reliable schedule) Last one of these mentioned Angelina Jolie in Hackers, and speaking of which: Cereal Killer in Hackers, and Stevo in SLC Punk!, both played by Matthew Lillard. What can I say; for a while, my type was very much "tall, skinny, intense"
A cropped promo photo for the movie Hackers. Matthew Lillard as Emmanuel "Cereal Killer" Goldstein stands on the left. His posture is a bit hunched, and he's somehow gangling whilst standing still. His long hair is in those odd skinny 90s multiple braids we used to rock to prove we didn't care about looking pretty and could only pull off because we were all so young and gorgeous, wearing an embellished black tank top, black leather wide-legged trousers, and the mother of all wallet chains -- a chunky, thick silver chain connecting front and back pocket and hanging down past his knee. He's a tall guy, so that's like a four- or five-foot-long chain, implying I suppose that it could be used as a weapon. Next to him stands Kate Libby played by Angelina Jolie, resplendent in head to toe white chic biker leathers.Matthew Lillard as Stevo in the movie "SLC Punk!". He's clean-shaven and mildly scowling, standing with his hands in the pockets of his black jeans. He's wearing a dirty brown t-shirt that does nothing for his complexion, a black leather jacket, and a short chunky necklace. His hair is short, spiked, and dyed electric blue.

Seeing Angelina Jolie in Foxfire (and, almost immediately after, Hackers) was less of a gentle gradual wondrous sexual awakening and more of a case of running face-first into a brick wall emblazoned with 10-foot-tall graffiti reading HEY IDIOT, YEAH NO DUH YOU ALSO LIKE GIRLS
A still of a very young Angelina Jolie in the indie drama Foxfire. She is wearing a black leather jacket zipped closed, a backpack with brown leather straps, no makeup, and she has that choppy 90s shaggy-bob-with-bangs oh my god that's why I rocked that haircut for years in my teens, isn't it. It was her. I need to go sit down.

The cover of a paperback book: the script for the stage play Inherit the Wind, by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E Lee.
It features a dark, moody painting of a tense courtroom scene set in the early 20th century; its central figure is a male lawyer in his shirtsleeves, which stands out stark white against the dark wood and dark suits of the judge and jury behind him, who all look unsympathetic.
He is stood leaning forward with one hand supporting himself on a paper-strewn table, posture hunched, confrontationally thrusting a small gilt-edged book forward in one outstretched arm with palpable intensity.

First among equals: Westley, played by Cary Elwes in The Princess Bride. Back in the day, I literally started dating someone because his LARP PC looked and dressed a lot like this... and yeah, my handle has been DreadPirateKhan for years for good reason.
A still shot from the movie The Princess Bride. Cary Elwes as "Westley" is center screen against a background of large rocks and scrubby grass. He is dressed entirely in black in a loose pirate shirt without ruffles, tight trousers, a sash belt bearing a sword sheath, leather gloves that cover his wrists, a do-rag covering his hair and a mask covering his upper face. The only skin visible is his lower face and his throat, as the shirt is only laced up to mid chest. He wields a rapier in his right hand and is gesturing with his left. The overall effect is of a confident, dangerous, and utterly swoonworthy rogue. Rowr.

The illustrated cover of the book Servant of the Empire, by Raymond E Feist and Janny Wurts. It is the middle book of a trilogy, coming between Daughter of the Empire and Mistress of the Empire. Against a dark background, with her head haloed by a huge orange alien moon, stands a slender brown-skinned woman wearing a rich silk robe and with her black hair elaborately styled, showing a mix of Incan or Mayan and Japanese design influences. This aesthetic also informs the look of a warrior standing in a defensive position at her back, who is wearing a feathered headdress and wielding a large spear and a buckler. In contrast, the last figure -- a red-headed and bearded white man hunkered down on one knee at her feet, pointing off to the left -- is dressed in European style fantasy garb.

The cover of the novel Kushiel's Dart, by Jacqueline Carey. Against a foggy light blue background is an illustration of the top two thirds of a young dark-haired standing woman in profile to the viewer, looking down. The top of a plain white skirt or wrap is visible around her hips. She is shirtless, hands on her own opposite shoulders as though hugging herself with her arms covering her breasts. A large stylized rose tattoo on her back is partially visible.

The cover of the book Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America, by Barbara Ehrenreich.
It features a photograph of a diner waitress waiting at a kitchen pass. She's dressed in a light blue uniform and has curly blonde hair. She's lightly leaning on the white counter of the pass, has her head craned around to keep an eye on her tables over her left shoulder, and looks tired.

The cover of the Discworld novel Going Postal by Sir Terry Pratchett. Against a dark blue backdrop of clouded sky and mountains and lit by a huge full moon, three enormous and precarious pile of mail are survived by four humans and two dogs in a classic hero-focused pose.
The dogs are on the left and look like Rottweilers of some kind. Next to them is an angular black-haired woman in a dark and severe dress, smoking a cigarette and looking judgmental.
The rightmost figure is an ancient man in a fantasy postal worker's old uniform including a winged hat, festooned in climbing gear he's using to scale the mail piles. Behind him is an apologetic young man with protuberant eyes.
The central figure is a weedy con man named Moist von Lipwig, dressed in a gold version of the postal uniform, including large golden wings on his golden hat, triumphantly holding an envelope aloft.

Quote with your first ever anime! Mine was probably Cat's Eye, dubbed in French (in the after-school TV show Club Dorothée), with the original DragonBall (not Z) and Ranma ½ close behind. It was about three sisters who run a café (?) by day and are cat burglars by night.
A cover illustration for the anime Cat's Eye, based on the manga of the same name, featuring three dark-haired sisters in form-fitting and low-cut catsuits. The are in a dynamic action pose, mid- jump or drop. The art style is typical of 1980s Japan.

I agree with John Oliver: more adult chores should come with stickers. In related news, I've decided not to be too precious about saving stickers for the Perfect Spot, and have instead just been chucking them onto my kindle case as they enter my life. Carpe stickem, y'all.
Two stickers on a red kindle case, one of which announces that its owner voted by mail, and the other that she donated blood; in her defense, the latter features Deadpool, and the sticker on the flip side of the case isn't virtue signaling and just features a chill capybara.
