It’s have been cool if Nice Pope had had the judgment to NOT say “both sides are equally bad” running up to the 2024 election
Text screenshot excerpting a BBC article:

Pope Francis has called both major US presidential candidates "against life" and advised Catholic voters to choose the "lesser evil" when casting their ballots in the November election.

The pontiff said not welcoming migrants seemingly referring to Trump- is a "grave" sin, and compared Kamala Harris's stance on abortion to an "assassination".

"Both are against life, be it the one who kicks out migrants, or be it the one who kills babies," the Pope said in rare political comments at a Friday news conference as he wrapped up a 12-day tour through southeast Asia.

The Pope did not refer to Harris or Trump by name in his comments.

Don’t forget your Sherlock hat, pipe, and magnifying glass. Oh yeah, and the obvious:

Professor William T. Kelley taught Marketing at Wharton

1982.

Professor Kelley told me 100 times over three decades
that "Donald Trump was the dumbest goddam student I
ever had." I remember his emphasis and inflection - it
went like this - "Donald Trump was the dumbest

Trump had become a celebrity but long before he was
considered a political figure.

Gonna have to call Al Green’s office tomorrow to thank him.
Text image of a ResistBot letter to AZ Dems reading:

Do not censure Al Green

The showing of Democrats at the presidential address on Tuesday was completely embarrassing, with the notable exception of Al Green.

Democrats are still overvaluing decorum in the face of an ongoing coup.

Dems, as usual, appear happy to let the occasional brave person of color say the uncomfortable, yet true things;

let POC put their bodies on the line to defend values we allegedly all share;

and then stand back say, "gosh, someone should do something.. but not like that" and then punish a POC with more guts, who took a greater risk, and showed more dedication to the greater good.

Democrats should be standing up for Al Green. And calling him for advice.

NOT censuring him.

Having money is not bad. Hoarding it is bad. Stealing it is bad. Exploiting people for it is bad. Have fun at your crypto hangout.
Text screenshot that reads:

aperfectillusion:
This is actually a real economic concept called the velocity of money. Let's say you get paid $10, you use that $10 to buy
lunch from a street vendor, then the street vendor uses that $10 to take a taxi home, then the taxi driver used that $10 to pay
his babysitter, next the babysitter uses that $10 to buy groceries, etc. That one $10 bill produced $50 of economic value. This is
really good for the economy and why it's bad to give rich people more and more money because all rich people do is horde it. They
don't stimulate the economy multiple times over with it.

NEW from me and @bresreports

The House GOP's budget resolution is not final yet.
But the general discussion is around a res that looks something like this:
- $4.5T for tax cuts.
- $300B increase in mandatory spending.
- $1.5T in spending cuts.
- Assuming 2.8% economic growth.

Again -- this is not yet final. But this is generally
where the discussion is.

As your representative in Congress, I am committed to holding this Administration accountable and prioritizing the needs of the American people. You may be interested to know that I am a cosponsor of the Department of Education Protection Act which would safeguard the Department’s current structure by prohibiting the use of federal funds to dismantle, alter, or reduce staffing levels within the agency. I am also proud to cosponsor the Taxpayer Protection Act. This critical piece of legislation ensures that individuals accessing sensitive payment systems have lawful authorization. In particular, it would prevent individuals with clear conflicts of interest, like Musk, from interfering with the Treasury Department’s operations. In addition, I am a cosponsor of the Consistent Legal Expectations and Access to Records (CLEAR) Act which verifies that federally established entities under 5 U.S.C. 3161 comply with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

I am also calling on Acting Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Scott Bessent demanding he immediately rescind the Administration’s illegal stop work order and allow the agency’s public servants to get back to work. In addition, I joined my Democratic colleagues in signing two letters urging the Trump Administration to reverse its decision to shut down USAID and withdraw from the WHO. These organizations play a crucial role in maintaining our leadership in international diplomacy, promoting global health initiatives, and ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches those in need.

Further, I spoke in front of the Department of Labor and at an USAID rally to demand the protection of workers’ rights and the continuation of international aid programs. It is critical that we stand against efforts to weaken these institutions and instead champion policies that support working families, expand educational opportunities, and reinforce the United States’ leadership on the global stage.

Meanwhile here’s YET ANOTHER CONGRESSWOMAN LAPPING YOU - 1st district rep of Nevada Dina Titus in response to a constituent: “Be assured, I will continue to provide the necessary oversight required of Congress and fight against President Trump’s actions that threaten civil rights and our democracy.”
Screenshot of a response to a constituent from 1st district representative of Nevada Dina Titus:
Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns regarding President Donald Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). I share your concerns and welcome the opportunity to respond.

As you know, President Trump appointed Elon Musk to lead DOGE in an effort to address what the Administration considers wasteful federal spending. In doing so, Trump granted Musk the status of a “special government employee,” giving a non-elected billionaire unprecedented access to the personal financial information of millions of Americans and allowing him to exert illegal control over critical federal agencies. This action is a grave disservice to the American people who deserve transparent and accountable representation in their government.

Moreover, I am deeply troubled by President Trump and Musk’s attempts to freeze vital programs for underserved communities, lay off thousands of hardworking federal employees, withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO), and dismantle both the Department of Education and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). These reckless decisions undermine our nation’s values, disrupt essential services, and represent a clear overreach of executive power.

How You Can Help
To emphasize the critical need for high-quality ATC services at SQL--given our high traffic
volume, IF arrivals/departures, extensive flight training, complex airspace, and proximity to
SFO-we encourage you to file FAA Hotline complaints to raise awareness of this urgent issue.
Important Reminders
Check NOTAMs before flying.
Review and follow procedures for Non-Towered Airport Flight Operations at SQL
Please continue to follow our Voluntary Noise Abatement Procedures.
We'll keep you updated on this important issue as we learn more. Feel free to reach out with any

Tragic. (We expect more though)
A letter reading:

SQL Tower will be ATC-Zero on February 1st
Beginning on Saturday, February 1st, the San Carlos Federal
Contract Tower will be unstaffed (ATC-Zero).
The Airport, in collaboration with SCAPA and SCFC, has been in continuous communication with
the FAA regarding the transition of air traffic service providers for the San Carlos Federal
Contract Tower. This morning, we were informed by FAA Headquarters that the SQL tower
will be unstaffed (ATC-Zero) starting Saturday, February 1st.
The FAA has awarded a new contract for air traffic services at SQL to Robinson Aviation (RVA).
However, the contract does not include locality pay to account for the high cost of living in the
San Francisco Bay Area. As a result, VA's employment offers to current SQL controllers were
significantly lower than their current compensation under SERCO. Understandably, all current
controllers have declined VA's offers.
Our controllers last day at SQL will be Friday, January 31St - if you have the chance, please
thank them for the excellent service they have provided at SQL for the past year.
Given that the FAA is ultimately responsible for ensuring air traffic services at SQL, we requested
temporary FAA staffing for the tower--a solution currently being implemented at Eagle Airport in
Colorado during its transition from SERCO to VA. However, the FAA informed us this morning that they will not provide temporary personnel for SQL.
What Are We Doing?
The Airport has been told it will receive daily updates from FAA Headquarters regarding
SQL tower staffing - we will forward pertinent updates to keep you all informed on the
status of staffing in the SQL tower.
We are working closely with Congressman Mullin's office to push the FAA to meet its
obligation to provide air traffic services at SQL.
Lastly, we are actively exploring all options to return the SQL tower to SERCO or FAA
staffing.

Ugh. Regarding H.R.238 - “artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies can qualify as a practitioner eligible to prescribe drugs” AI is a creation designed to replace paid humans whose hard-earned expertise we rely on.
Text image of a ResistBot letter:

Regarding H.R.238 - “artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies can qualify as a practitioner eligible to prescribe drugs”

AI is currently a very immature technology.

It reads text and then regurgitates something that LOOKS legit, while lacking wisdom and understanding. It will mix up words and ideas it has consumed and then spit out a salad that’s shallowly plausible but is masticated verbal nonsense.

AI will also fabricate supporting images, and hallucinate citations and references that seem realistic, but that actually don’t exist in reality.

AI is literally a BS artist.

People who want to rely on this for critical skilled work are either 1) trying to avoid paying educated people for their expertise, or 2) trying to sell AI services to do tasks AI cannot do properly.

This bill is nonsensical trash and if you or a family member are sick, I hope you can get treatment from an actual human who understands real biology, as opposed to an ignorant shiny object that will pretend to be your friend. Or your doctor.
