Last year was a whirlwind. This yr has been a slog fest, trying to get back to writing & editing completed novels. I've had colds back to back this spring. Basically "I'm a mom." The win I've had is reading. Below is my TBR for June. This is how I know what I'm doing when I edit my novels.

This year has been so very challenging. My focus for the rest of this year will be on family and the house, but I'm hoping to get back to writing, editing and publishing in the spring.

Life has been rough. We moved. Currently unpacking and starting to write again. Finally.

Currently moving, but keeping positive and thinking about the next phase, I'm building a Summer Novel Writing Challenge on discord. Anyone interested?

If you’re good at internet sleuthing and want to put your skills to work to help wildfire victims you can check for LA county rentals that have suddenly doubled in price, publicly name and shame the agents doing this, and report them to the government because it’s illegal: oag.ca.gov/contact/cons...

I'm transitioning from writing serial content to publishing books, but while I need to edit and tweak and improve, my Life has hit me with the power of a tsunami since Halloween. I'm hoping to get back to editing this next week. Also scrambling to clean.

Every month I do a little better. I'm raising money to pay an editor to address my not-on-vella YA novel :)

Hello void! I'm a writer of the full spectrum of fantasy and romance, (epic fantasy, Romantasy, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, romance comedy) publishing on vella right now and wanting to connect with writers, readers, podcasters & bloggers.

I mom and I write. Right now a cold is blowing through our house, bringing fevers and coughs and bad attitudes. Meanwhile, it's the end of month so I'm scrambling to get posts up (so writing) and editing and scheduling...and it feels particularly challenging this month.

Drea Writes @drea-moore.bsky.social · 23/10/2023

End of the month is a scramble for vella authors. The trade off of receiving money while we write and build our backlist is the need to gain more reads and interactions each month. We are content creators of the fiction writing variety.

There's lots of assumptions about the serial platforms. For me it was an essential step to releasing stories. While I eventually want to be a hybrid author, right now, I need a paycheck, of any size, and fast. The one skill I have worked on the most in my life has been my writing. I chose serials.

Drea Writes @drea-moore.bsky.social · 29/09/2023

Despite issues with Amazon being buggy, I got a shiny new story started on vella. The end of the month push for reads is stressful. Anyone in a similar position rt now?
