My new journal article is now out; it presents my new analysis of data from the last century's most notable UK poverty study, and fulfils Peter Townsend's wish to use all 60 of his deprivation indicators - no study until now has used more than his sub-set of 12... www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

Why are you so rude to people, just because they have different views from yours?

I like the work of Marxists and do not want to see them sacked from universities for being left-wing. Why do so many on the Left, such as Professor Mike Neary at Lincoln, want lecturers' careers wrecked just because they are not left-wing?

Wyy not read some of my work before calling me names and saying it is OK for me to be fired for having different opinions from yours? Then decide. Have an open mind.

I've taught about racism in universities for many years.

Have you worked in social science? This is crazy - no balance, no acceptance that racism can affect both sides. Unbelievable.

That ignores much of the Arday story - so many crazy claims accepted uncritically by employers/BBC etc, plagiarism, only appointed due to his skin colour, calling the police when he came under scrutiny. I am unemployed because of harsh treatment by a university so maybe show some sympathy.

By knowing some people from the interview panel after I was appointed to those jobs. It would be wrong if I did get a job for that reason, but it seems unlikely in social sciences. Possibly in my last job at Queen's University, Belfast, being from a Protestant background might have helped me.

I made a reasonable point. I thought most people were aware that there is discrimination against whites in UK university appointments.

You knew what I meant. It was racist discrimination against whites.

Didn't he get his professorship because of the colour of his skin, and despite poor work that included vast amounts of plagiarism. Then when journalists asked legitimate question he contacted the police and law firms. Anti-white and anti-Right discrimination is rife in UK universities.

it is an anti-racist campaign against DEI discrimination

No they don't. Good journalism helped expose Arday's conman activities.

If he'd been white he'd not have received all the DEI advantages. Do you sympathise with us honest, good academics who have lost our jobs due to the political climate in universities?

They just reported his dodgy activities.

No a sacking, it was covered in the Sunday Telegraph in the UK in 2019, as I took the University to a tribunal and lost. The unfair treatment was unbelievable for me at the time (3 crazy gross misconduct charges, found not guilty then sacked), but the Free Speech Union tell me it is widespread.

The Arday scandal will hopefully make vastly more people aware of the biases in social science and humanities. My bosses at Uni of Lincoln seem like his. I have 18 sole/principal authored peer-reviewed journal articles and have just had 52 job applications in a row without a single interview.

There are victims here of course - those of us who are jobless due to being sacked from social science jobs for not being left-wing. I have 18 sole/principal authored articles in peer-reviewed academic journals.
