This time next week, I will be doing my final checks before setting off to Brighton for the @mybisa.bsky.social conference. Fingers crossed the weather stays reasonably pleasant. If you're interested in diplomacy/conflict resolution and/or Track II diplomacy, come say hi!

As we are in "call for proposals" season for next year's @isanet.bsky.social & @mybisa.bsky.social conferences, I am looking to put together some panels on the broad theme of "Unofficial Diplomacy in a Dangerous World: New Insights Into Track II/1.5 Diplomacy". If you are interested, let me know!

Call for ECR Contributions to Diplomatic Studies Section Roundtables at @isanet.bsky.social 2027! If you are an ECR conducting research in diplomatic studies, please consider submitting a proposal. If you know an ECR, please let them know about this opportunity!

I am beginning to think about #BISA2026. If there are any @mybisa.bsky.social scholars whose work focuses on diplomacy (including but not exclusively ECRs), please get in touch and let's put something together!

I will be presenting on a couple of panels at #BISA2025, discussing current co-authored projects with Carol Buxton, Scott Edwards, and Giuditta Fontana. So if you are interested in space (and trust), Track II diplomacy (and trust), or LEGO (and Playful Learning), why not come along?

I am excited to be involved in this event. If you are free, why not register and join us, from the comfort of your own home, for what will be a fascinating discussion on trust and international relations.

Monday is going to be a "relatively busy" #PSA2025 day! I will be presenting some co-authored work with Jonathan Pettifer on Trust/Trustworthiness as Norms to be Contested. Come along if you are free. @trust-ir.bsky.social

Looking forward to presenting some co-authored work with Giuditta Fontana on using #LEGO in teaching at #PSA2025. If you are around and interested in the idea of using interlocking plastic bricks in your own teaching, come along and hear what we did and what we learned!

theconversation.com/ukraine-war-why-negotiations-depend-on-trust-250102 A belated sharing of my first article with the Conversation. Given everything that has happened since it was published, I cannot quite work out if it is more or less relevant than two weeks ago.

Final preparations for #ISA2025. It will be my first trip to the US since 2022 (and second overall). Organising my schedule is proving difficult as there are so many excellent panels and roundtables. Spoilt for choice! These in particular look very interesting (I am very biased). See you there!
