I got a new retainer, and they did a digital scan instead of a plaster mold. I asked them, and was sent the OBJ and STL files for my teeth. Haven't used it for anything yet, but figured it's cool to have.

Because from a consumer perspective it doesn't matter if the price increase is caused by run away AI investors, tariffs, wars, greedy AAA CEOs selling Day 1 DLC, etc The solution is the same thing it's always been - don't let FOMO win, be willing to walk away from what you're not willing to afford.

You've already backed all the up to realizing this is the same problem gamers have always had, where they can only buy what they can afford. If you're not willing to sacrifice AAA games then they'll keep costs up

You act like "can't play a particular game because I've been priced out of it" is a new problem, when it's been reality for 30+ years. Most people haven't had infinite game money, so they've had to pick one platform to play games on and give up on anything that didn't support that platform.

I'm seriously baffled that Mirriam Webster doesn't have "uneditable" as a word in their dictionary in 2026. It feels far more common than "promposal" (added 2025). Honestly, looking at their 2025 list a lot of older terms (like "parasocial", "uncanny valley", and "Mandela effect") barely got added.

I refuse to worry about this until there's more cases in general. Every few years the USA gets it's own plague outbreak, and it ends up being reported more for engagement than health risks. Yes, this version is more easily spread, but not "jump oceans in a single transmission" easy!

I think there's a feeling that you have more options with PC games that are digital than console games. You can slap a second (or third) drive into a PC tower and keep all your games on it if you want. Meanwhile a console comes with less storage and can be harder to expand.

Probably depends on the sidewalks. I've seen sidewalks that are full of trip hazards due to not being maintained. Tree roots pushing them up, chucks missing, overgrown with bushes, etc. All problems that cities don't let happen with roads.

I think a decent amount of people without be interested in a 3D muscle base mesh that's more customizable than Daz's size sliders (especially if muscles flexed when the rig moved), but there's a massive skill gap between generic character creation tutorials and making something like that.

In my experience 15 minutes between bus arrivals is the longest wait where it's still kinda viable. 10 minutes or less is far better. Express buses that don't stop between stations can also dramatically improve commutes. Bus routes that slow down to once every 30-60 minutes? Last resort only.
