One thing I’m most pleased about is this figure that distinguishes the peer review process for Registered Reports from that of standard research articles. Students need to understand the peer review process to understand this new publication format, but many figures don’t depict this. (4/6)
A figure depicting the traditional publication model and the Registered Reports publication model. In the former, peer review happens at the end of a study for an entire research report. In the latter, peer review is split into two stages: before data collection/analysis and once the research is completed. Figure is licensed as CC-BY-4.0: Please cite the reference within the preprint if you wish to re-use this figure.

Oo, perhaps for the first time, I disagree with @lakens.bsky.social (& agree with Smriti Mehta) here: Preregistration should be about the severity of the analysis AND the hypothesis... If I run 15 tests, I'd want to know which one best confirms my hypothesis. (1/X)

Whilst the need for Open Research practices is well documented, there remains a lack of validated questionnaires to assess their prevalence. We developed, piloted, and administered the Brief Open Research Survey (BORS) to measure OR awareness & uptake in the UK (1/X)
