Bank holiday weekend #filmswiththeboy update. A glorious weekend of movies in between curb and Indiana Jones video game shenanigans. First up - the comedies. 22 Jump st and one of my personal faves Last Boy Scout

What’s that you say? More #filmswiththeboy updates? Nothing like a bit of Dogma for some Father / Son bonding. Also one of the first flicks I took @mrsvenkman.bsky.social to see when we first met & further proof that Jason Lee was the best Fletch we never got to see

Still playing catch up on my lack of #filmswiththeboy updates. I started these as a fun way to track new movies and experiences with my son and for him to have a giggle at when he is older - he is already wiser haha Two very different Spielberg flicks next. And I will always defend both of these…

#filmswiththeboy updates have fallen away with exams and x files and all sorts of craziness. HOWEVER, we have still snuck in some absolute gems - so i will be bringing myself back up to date over the next few days. First off two classic comedies with very different energy 🫶

It’s David Lynch’s birthday - wish he was still with us ❤️‍🔥

#filmswiththeboy bizarrely fell down a biopic hole this past week. Movies of varying quality but all with a special place in my heart. Also…. Gary Busey as Buddy Holly…. So good 🤘 Walk the Line, Buddy Holly Story, Great Balls of Fire and HBOs Rat Pack with Ray Liotta nailing early 1960s Frank 🥃

I can kinda forgive the dodgy AI in the new Beatles anthology on Disney + Can’t forgive all the stuff they cut tho. Including Neil Aspinall’s “this big” story about the hash the cops found in a chest at George’s house….

A solid week for #filmswiththeboy and my new rule to watch / share at least one classic a week. First off Rope - a movie I just never tire of. @mrsvenkman.bsky.social letting slip how cool of an eye movement actor Jimmy Stewart was as well as everything else he did 😁🫶

New years resolution to watch at least one classic movie a week as part of #filmswiththeboy This week was a personal fave of mine, script, acting, directing, score all first class. The amazing Taking Of Pelham 123 🫶

Furiously catching up on #filmswiththeboy posts that were missed earlier in year due to life and stuff. So where were we?? It’s a special moment when a Dad gets to watch this amazing movie with their son. Never gets old.

I am very late to the (pool?) party but finally got around to watching Mike Birbiglias Old Man & The Pool tonight. Great show and a fantastic comedian and storyteller embarrassed I did not know his work until tonight. Really worth checking out if like me you missed it on release 🏊‍♀️

Been watching lots of #filmswiththeboy although my lack of posting may suggest otherwise! I will try and catch up this week. We watched two great buddy flicks past few days - and hell yes I would have watched a Running Scared sequel! Billy Crystals style alone in this movie is….. *chefs kiss*

This was amazing and strangely the first time I’ve seen Back to the Future without the “to be continued” gag card at the end - just cuts straight to the end credits. Very OG 1985 vibes 🫶

Not quite a #filmswiththeboy but we just watched STNGs season four episode Drumhead. Obvs hits harder these days but a classic episode and should be shown in schools while we struggle through this kingdom of fear 🖖

#filmwiththeboy Sunday evening fun with Michael Douglas wearing the hell out of a white suit and showing how it’s done.

The boy came home from school sick today. So an unscheduled #filmswiththeboy took place. Colin Firth kicking all kinds of ass and showing us what a cool John Steed he could have made in Kingsman. Perfect rainy afternoon flick.

#filmswiththeboy this was inevitable after watching the last few og cast movies. It’s not a perfect film but it is a fun one. Reminds me of the opening weekend when we did a binge of the precceding flicks at the MGM in Belfast @timbvoice.bsky.social 🖖

Wacky double bill of #filmswiththeboy an old fave with the Burbs and a first time watch of the Tetris movi -which has obviously made me want to play Tetris on my gameboy but also made me want to rewatch Thick of It thanks to Roger Allam’s bat shit crazy Robert Maxwell portrayal.

#filmswiththeboy Zoolander. Didn’t land as well as I thought it might. Forgot about the threesome scene so had to skip through that as my daughter was with us 🙈 Still, like any teenage boy he was delighted to see the David Duchovny & Garry Shandling cameos which means I’ve done something right.

One more Bobby DeNiro flick after this and I will finally have caught up with #filmswiththeboy backlog and will do better at posting after we actually watch them. Terrible Irish accents aside, I’ve always had a soft spot for Ronin and of course the car chases are *chefs kiss* 👌

Still catching up on #filmswiththeboy of course watching movies with my son is far more fun than posting about them but it’s nice to have a record. I couldn’t wait to watch this with him - his first non Spiderman Raimi flick - great cast and always fun to watch. 🤠

Still catching up on #filmswiththeboy posts from past two weeks. Ah the joys of tracking one’s movie viewings with their son 😁 Watched Scorsese’s Aviator for the first time in a long while. He wanted Goodfellas or Departed so we settled on this ho ho ho

Still catching up with #filmswiththeboy updates! Had a blast watching Star Trek Four with him. Shatner, Kelley and Nimoys banter is next level. But do I introduce him to Five or skip straight to Six???? And what does God need a starship for?? 🤔🖖

I have been neglecting my #filmswiththeboy posts for a couple of weeks so will post a movie every day this week that I have introduced him to over the past couple of weeks ☺️ First up Long Kiss Goodnight. Busy weekend of #filmswiththeboy First up Mountainhead which started off strong but fell away for me in the final third. Then introduced the kid to The Commitments which quite frankly gets better with every watch / listen #nowplaying
