Not so #tinyjoys was an afternoon spent at the Fitzwilliam museum. Art and archaeology. Heaven!
Roman bust. Looks like Neptune with a fabulous beard. Baboon and ?Anubis pots. The baboon is a bit disappointed in you but still loves you. Joan of Arc by Rossetti. Joan has gorgeous red hair and is holding a sword whilst clearly communing with God. The Bridesmaid by Millais. Again she has gorgeous flowing red hair and it putting something through a gold wedding ring. Maybe pomegranate? I know they loved their pomegranates.

I'm writing a book about a woman who procured early teenage girls for rich men, including politicians and princes. It's a true story. It happened back in 1885 and I'm constantly surprised by how little has changed. The book tells the girls story, people with hopes and fears just like you. 1/2

Loving this bit of 19th century libel (unless it's true of course) which had me chuckling whilst checking the Commandments.
It was amusing to hear to ex-Home Secretary preach to the people of Derby on the subject of the Ninth Commandment [Thou shalt not bear false witness], the very one which he had broken so often with regard to me. I quite expected him to follow it up with an exposition on the Seventh Commandment [Thou shalt not commit adultery], but was disappointed to hear nothing.’

Next week I'll be sat on the beach trying to work out 10 pages written like this... This is genuinely my idea of fun.
Notes written in a very scrawling hand. Ten pages in all. Currently I can work out maybe 40% of the words. To be fair the example is the easiest bit to read.

I got a window bird feeder a month or so ago and have only been feeding particularly agile pigeons? Well, look what happened today! #tinyjoys #birdshow
A window bird feeder with 4 tiny birds (possibly a green finch and some house sparrows) having a birdie gossip. I wonder what birds gossip about.

In our teeny wildflower corner this giant plant grew. It was nearly as high as the hedge and I was going to prune it. I'm glad I didn't. It's now covered in the most gorgeous purple blue flowers. Who knew chicory was so beautiful! #tinyjoys

Seems to me if you leave guardianship of your daughters to your sister and 'any other child or children' to a solicitor then you've been a very naughty boy. #19thcentury

2 years ago we started a house extension (well the builders did) and I moved a rambling rose. It was really deeply rooted and I had to hack at it to get any of it out. I moved it to a big pot at the bottom of the garden. It is still not very happy but today it gave me this. Plucky fellow #tinyjoys

#tinyjoys A week or so ago a big pot was tipped over overnight in the garden. It had been windy overnight but the pot has a few bricks at the bottom so I thought it was unlikely to be that. I checked the camera that looks over the back garden and, well, can you see....?

Today is #Nationaltripletday and however you celebrate it I'd like to set you a quiz one of my triplets designed a few years ago. Conveniently it has 3 questions. 1) where did Romans be deaded and come back to life? 2) where does a skunk do a stinky tail? 3) how do you win a running cycle race?

I've been reading about the Salvation Army in the 19th century. Jeremy Corbyn's been around a while hasn't he?
Someone dancing with tambourine. He or she has a beard and a bonnet, wearing a red top that says 'Salvation Army,' a blue skirt showing their petticoat and pantaloons. It looks a lot like Jeremy Corbyn.

I have so many questions! This is from the Windsor and Eton Express, 17 July 1869 so there is no-one I can ask.
Discovery of Mutilated Remains at Hounslow - Intense excitement was created on Friday Morning owing to a report that the remains of a child had been found near Mr Mitchell's garden in the Inwood-road...the body, which was supposed to be that of a child of six or seven years of age, was conveyed to the station, search being made in the meantime for the head. Various rumours were afloat as to the object and whereabouts of the murderer, which, however, was finally settled by Dr. Chapman who was sent for to see the body, which he, without hesitation, pronounced to be that of a dog.

were less than respectable, as was noted in the press at the time who muttered about the 'night-side' of life. Some of these women became celebrities. One such was Mabel Grey who became very famous in the late-1860's, had many rich lovers, and then disappeared...

Me 1988ish. I still want that haircut but last time I bleached my hair I looked in the mirror and looked like a cross between Pat Butcher and Myra Hindley! That was the end of my adventures with bleach. I'm now waiting to go grey instead.

Jeff Goldblum in the series Kaos - which was really good and I'm still annoyed they did not renew it. We need more Greek mythology on the TV!

Today I'm reading Victorian newspaper articles about the benefits of sea bathing and hoping an agent emails me....and now I'm distracted by Cordingly's Floating Bath. Wonder why that didn't catch on?
