This is me on July 28 in the ICU, knocked unconscious with 13 broken bones and a punctured lung as a result of a cycling accident caused by an at-fault driver. A bike lane would have prevented this. “Safety and quality of life” is presumably only for the UCP base.

Released from ICU this afternoon and now home. Photo shows the impact that the back of my S-Works helmet took after I was thrown from my bike 20 yards through the air at 60 km/h and landed in rocks and sand. Without this helmet I’d be dead. E-bike and e-scooter yahoos take note.

Did some high intensity intervals (500W, 30km/h uphill seated, 25s) on the bike yesterday. My heart rate recovery is as good as an elite athlete in their prime. Why that is, I don't know, as everything else is as lousy as would be expected of a 60-year-old, BMI-challenged guy with a Scottish diet.

Heart rate recovery (non-resting) exceeds 30 bpm, which puts me in the elite athlete bracket. Nothing else about my cycling puts me in the elite athlete bracket ...

Should you choose to accept his invitation, I suggest that you first check that he cleans his little winkie more carefully than he cleans his teeth.

He has been inviting contributors to the thread to "suck his dick", and based on the state of his dental work, it would indeed likely be safer to be the sucker than the suckee.

I just did a google search asking about Claude Lemieux, who passed away tragically earlier this week. Top of the page is google's AI slop generator, which informed me that "Claude Lemieux is still alive". And students are using this shite to help them write papers and theses? Get AI in the bin!

There’s a bronze statue of a rig pig in Fort Saskatchewan, and every time I walk by it with my dog, I’m surprised that there is not a large crowd surrounding it, on their knees, praying and thanking God for the black gold he gave them. Probably with the lunatic from this video leading the prayer.

I regularly cycle past this huge gas tank located at Shell Scotford, north east of Fort Saskatchewan. Referred to by Shell as the "Pride Tank". The UCP permits support for LGBTQ2S+ and EDI principles at an oil refinery, but not at our universities and schools. Sounds about right.

Made a wooden square to fit over the top of my outside light, with wires sticking up to deter birds from sitting on my light and making a mess. So this robin started using the wires to let her weave grass like a wicker basket, with a plan to create the best nest ever. I had to ask her to leave. 😥

Five weeks since the radiator leak in my UofA office (slow drip for several years) got much worse & forced me out. Exposed asbestos under the floor tiles, furniture wrecked; that's mould on the floor. Possessions currently distributed across 5 rooms and I'm basically working out of a suitcase. (1/3)

This week’s report from the “Ivory Tower”. Radiator pipe leak in my office. Floor tiles peeling up have asbestos underneath. Furniture, walls covered in black mould, strong mould smell. No maintenance for years thx to UCP cuts to UofA budget. Who does the UCP call to address leaks? Mraiche Plumbing?
