They’ve introduced the acronym SHAPE (Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts for People and the Economy) due to the success of STEM and it doesn’t really work because “women in SHAPE” sounds like a comment on our bodies.

Pictured: my plants and I attempting to survive malevolent levels of heat because governments refuse to face the reality of climate change and hold fossil fuel companies accountable for the harm they’re doing to the planet.

We're starting a journal! We're looking for ideas for pieces that we can fold into the proposal that will go to an interested press, with the hope that if the press take the journal on we'll starting publishing in 2028. #smellstudies #sensorystudies #smellhistory #smells

I’m giving one of those quintessentially Cambridge post-dinner talks on Tuesday 24th at 8:45pm in the Peterhouse parlour. It’s open to everyone at Cambridge and I’d love to see you there and talk your ear off about smell’s myths and marvels 👃🏻✨

All the studies on canine olfaction are like “Dogs can detect bombs! drugs! tumors! and they MIGHT even smell what you’re thinking” and the studies on cats are like “Your cat can distinguish your scent from some stranger’s, but that doesn’t mean they like you”

Have been working absurdly long hours lately, but still making time to get outside. Today’s walk was straight out of Pride and Prejudice.

I wrote an article for @theconversation.com on how philosophy can help us understand the deep harms of AI-generated sexual images, e.g by Grok on X, as well as other digital misogyny like assault in virtual reality. #philsky #philtech theconversation.com/how-ai-gener...

How AI-generated sexual images cause real harm, even though we know they are ‘fake’

Publicly bombarding women with these images exerts control over how they present themselves online.

Hello, friends! I am back and will be making a concerted effort to post regularly on here, because the other place is truly hideous. I have a huge platform there and will continue to use it for good, but it will be nice to spend more time in sunnier climes if you’ll have me!
