Dragons of London @dragonsoflondon.bsky.social · 21/01/2026Sorry about the long slumber. Dragons move in mysterious ways. Here is a delightful little dragon with verdigris patterning on its scales. Spotted nesting on top of a posh school in W1, at the end of Waverton Street. 062

Dragons of London @dragonsoflondon.bsky.social · 01/10/2024We have recorded this species before - this delightful tiny black dragon seems to be comfortable nesting at pavement level, where it builds its eye-catching red or orange circular nest. The population density seems to be growing steadily. 101
Dragons of London @dragonsoflondon.bsky.social · 30/09/2024One of the key rules of dragon-twitching is "if you spot one dragon, keep looking." Dragons are sociable creatures, and the conditions which attract one dragon will likely attract others too. 112
Dragons of London @dragonsoflondon.bsky.social · 23/09/2024Small Noble Grey perching on one of the statues at Hampton Court Palace. Many thanks to dragon-twitcher Scruff Cheetah (@scruff.bskyb.social) who both spotted it, snapped a photo, and then consulted a spotter's guide to be certain of the genus. 110
Dragons of London @dragonsoflondon.bsky.social · 17/09/2024We originally reported this singular dragon nesting at the Mug House pub, Tooley Street, over 5 years ago, but in the low light conditions it wasn't possible to do this dragon justice. 100
Dragons of London @dragonsoflondon.bsky.social · 21/08/2024It's been a while since we've talked about Red-Tipped Londinium dragons, the classic London dragon as spotted nesting on many City of London street signs, bollards, and beyond. 100
Dragons of London @dragonsoflondon.bsky.social · 20/08/2024Incredible range of colours on display on this extremely tame dragon, which has chosen to take part in a merry-go-round! Rumour has it, if you sit down very gently, it will even let adults and children go for a ride on its back. 111
Dragons of London @dragonsoflondon.bsky.social · 15/08/2024Dragons can go to university! Surprise dragon seen nesting on a @uniwestminster poster at a bus stop. Beautiful bright colour on this little apparently very tame little dragon. 121
Dragons of London @dragonsoflondon.bsky.social · 14/08/2024These pictures are of just some of the dragons (and their descendants) from overseas who have made London (Kew Pagoda specifically) their homes since 1762. They were originally brought here for royalty - Princess Augusta, the founder of Kew Gardens. 111
Dragons of London @dragonsoflondon.bsky.social · 13/08/2024Game of Thrones fans might get quite excited about this dragon, spotted nesting in a chapel in Southwark Cathedral. This delightful dragon is a two-headed species, though the positioning of one limb did have our experts fooled for a moment. 132
Dragons of London @dragonsoflondon.bsky.social · 07/08/2024While the Olympics are on, it seems like the perfect time to share this extremely athletic dragon spotted in the wild by Instagram user coderunnerguy! This huge dragon was not sighted by any of our other dragon-twitchers, which is surprising, as its wingspan is larger than some boroughs. 😱 112
