was so amused seeing this scene in ep3 of ghost in the shell (2026) the original movie was really eye-opening to me as a young teenager. so deep! so thought-provoking! but nowadays it feels very appropriate to have this kind of chat with your transhumanist lesbian polycule mostly to fuck with 'em.

A scene from Ghost in the Shell (1995) in a series of screenshots. Major Motoko Kusanagi is talking with Batou in an elevator.

Major: "Maybe all complete cyborgs like me start wondering this. That perhaps I died a long time ago. And I'm a replicant made with a cyborg body and computer brain. Or maybe there never was a real me in the first place."
Batou: "You've got human brain cells in that titanium shell of yours. And you're treated like a human, aren't you?"
Motoko: "Has anyone actually seen their own brain? I believe I exist based only on what my environment tells me. What if a cyber brain could generate its own ghost. Create a soul by itself? What could you base your belief in yourself on then?"

A scene from Ghost in the Shell (2026). Major Motoko Kusanagi is on a date with her two girlfriends, they are chatting over some bright, fruity parfaits.

Motoko: "I sometimes think to myself that maybe the real me died, and this 'me' is just a simulated persona made up of a brain and prosthetic body."

GF with purple hair (Ran?): "But you have a brain and stuff, and you're treated like any other human being."

Motoko: "Even though I've never seen my own brain? Even though I'm just determining that based on what I see around me?"

She leers across the table down her spoon at her other GF with brown hair (Kurutan?).

Motoko: What if your manufacturer knocked on your door one day and said, "We're here to replace a defective product." And when all that's left are two or three brain cells after they disassemble you, what would you do?"

Yay, Galette Vol.5 arrived and it is gorgeous as ever. I love the design work on the main cover this edition, and the holo print for the bonus booklet. Excited for the upcoming Vol.6! @galetteweb.bsky.social

A photo of two volumes of manga.

The left is Galette Vol.05 (Special English Edition), whose cover features a pink haired girl kissing and stroking the hair of a brownish haired girl, as well as very pop-ish green and white text reading "Lock me up whole". The cover illustration is by Pen, Hamin, and Milko, and the interior comics are listed as by Izumi Kitta x Moto Momono, Miyuki Yorita, Mera Hakamada, Haru Yatosaki, Nekohariko 22, Ringo Hamano, and Milk Morinaga.

The right is Galette Vol.05's matching special booklet. The cover features a dark haired schoolgirl sleeping amongst hydrangeas, while a lighter brown haired girl with a pink flower in her hair gently kisses the back of her head. The cover art is by Milk Morinaga and is printed with a rainbow holo effect.

check out its collection of Maccys btw. my pride and joy. still got a few more to get

A screenshot of the Neopet Sysadmin's petpets. They are a bunch of Maccys in various designs and colours (also a game controller). They are named after various operating systems or server components, like Linux (basic), Windows 11 (evil), Windows 95 (bluescreened) and macOS (white); or PostgreSQL (black), Kubernetes (blue), or Jellyfin (TV-esque).

The confirmation screen of giving a Petpet to a Neopet on Neopets fansite Grundos.Cafe. It shows a Robot Krawk, a robot crocodilian creature, receiving a Mutant Maccy, an old-style desktop computer. The text says, "Sysadmin says "Wow! I am very happy with my new Mutant Maccy.""

some other autism highlights because I apparently can't post multiple gifs at once

Asakusa from Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken. She is looking bewildered, uncomfortable and ready to spring into action with a paint brush all at once. She's wearing a school uniform and an army print bucket hat.

The siblings Falin and Laios Touden from Dungeon Meshi. Laios is happily showing off a sword to Falin, the only person who cares. The subs say, "Yes, please! I'd love that!"

Suletta Mercury from Gundam: Witch From Mercury. She awkwardly and stressfully poses with her arms crossed and raised as if to defend herself from the social interaction she's in.

Makio from Journal With Witch. She's on her mobile phone asking someone, "When do you feel lonely?"

apropos of nothing but I'm so charmed by this mascot character Fukka-chan, the mascot of Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture. they're a deer/rabbit hybrid and "their gender depends on the time and situation" (mood)

A photo of a costume of the mascot character Fukka-chan. They are a white deer-rabbit hybrid that stands on two legs and has little deer ears and a bunny-like face. Instead of deer horns they have green onions. They wear green overalls and a green hat on which the Japanese character "fu" is written.

atm the plan is to do a moonstone pearl coat with gold detailing, maybe see if I can get some blue on the robot to match with the girl. the kit really wants the combo to be a centaur but I was personally inspired by this pose in the instruction booklet. 'yeah we gay keep scrolling' energy

i've been reading some manhua by Ke Ran Bing the past couple of days and her work is all kind of great actually and i'm definitely feeling all kinds of normal about a butch gang leader

Two panels from the comic Fugue Across Worlds by Ke Rang Bing. It focuses on a woman with short blue hair dressed in a formal black suit, but with her white dress shirt's collar popped. A few spattered blood stains can be seen on the shirt's collar and breast. In the first panel she clicks her tongue "Tch", the panel cutting off above her eyes to focus on her disgust. The second panel shows her crunching on the ground looking slightly down at the viewer, a couple of similarly dressed goons behind her likewise scowling. A knife is stabbed into the ground as if it is stabbing the viewer. The woman says, "Fuck off.", as rain falls on her.

While I agree their name is unfortunate, their site does say that their focus is all marginalised genders (including transmasc nonbinary people). There's nothing wrong with a charity having a focus, especially when gender *is* a factor in diagnosis and treatment.

A screenshot of the Autistic Women & Non-binary Network about page. It reads:

Welcome to AWN!

Our Mission

The mission of Autistic Women & Nonbinary Network (AWN) is to provide community support, and resources for Autistic women, girls, transfeminine and transmasculine nonbinary people, trans people of all genders, Two Spirit people, and all people of marginalized genders or of no gender. AWN is committed to recognizing and celebrating diversity and the many intersectional experiences in our community.

under painting- put down fun colour make fun texture- putting down blues and greens in shadows of skin before pinkish skin colour, browns in shadows of greens on clothing. consider the storytelling ambience of contrast colours in shadow! eg. warm colours in shadows for near lava

wet blending (not pictured) useful for gradients, and you can let it dry and overlay to keep building it up dry brushing - use makeup brush - take off 90% colour, try to hit edges, test on other things to ensure not too much streakiness, good for highlights
