Leave it to Gears of War E-Day to really expose how the grifters mentality. The game has pride flags in the emblem section right? You literally have to scoll to the bottom to get to it though. They literally are searching for stuff now to get their hivemind mad about and make money off of them.

Once LGBTQIA+ themes started to exist more in games, bigots would have to acknowledge it, and nothing pisses them off more than having to acknowledge something they hate exists. It's the entire reason grifter culture has existed, because they NEED people to be mad at something THEY'RE mad at.

When you ask your rich father for money to open up a game studio. It helps to actually have knowledge of how to manage a studio and develop a game at the same time. All the CEO wanted was to relive the old days of shooters and didn't bother putting time into learning how studios or games work.

So Niles Sankey caved to the outrage mob on X and used whatever MAGA buzzwords to describe Lt Williams on Campaign Evolved. Yeah her character isn't well written IMO especially when compared to ODSTs in the Flood novel. Commenting that on Youtube seemed to anger the crowd I thought it would.
