Tolerating emotional experience is difficult.

Bonus thought: shouldn't it be a good thing when a problematic person does something unproblematic? We should be out for reacclimation towards civil society, not pure punishment

Problematic is as problematic does, but problematic is a 1/10 on the scale compared to the state of the US.

People out there complaining about the VA credits for Mewgenics as if democracy and human rights aren't on fire in the US and elsewhere right now.

At the risk of holding my can and banging on it to make noise, I really want to be able to afford to work on this full time. It's something that needs full time investment. I've been trying to avoid the venture route, but clearly it may be the better fiscal option.

Why can't these AI aholes get it in their head that people and companies alike don't want their sites to be bombarded with crawlers designed to suck out all the data for training and enshittification. Holy fuck.

@hakuten.bsky.social with the beautiful portrayal of my favorite D&D character, Cedar Farhearth. What's that moss on her wrist? She won't tell :) so happy with this

Goat druid on two feet interacting with a small bird on her hand. Some moss grows off her other wrist. Silver-white fur and horns, green robes, brown belts and armlets.

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends: 1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration; 2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you; 3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

There is nothing like being back home and experiencing your cat gently pushing you awake because she wants food and love. Or her insistence the moment you sit down once home the first time that she must sit or lay on you and re-scent the life straight out of you.

Oh yeah. Next year I want to catalogue more of whatever convention I go to. More photos, more notes. There is so much fun stuff that goes on and I miss a lot of it. The coffee will have to flow into my veins next time.

And we can't forget the Heist objective, which was thoroughly sticker bombed as well.

Yeah. Seven posts of thoughts. That's way more than my usual amount of thoughts (zero, because dissociative high strung mess x3) Going to use this as a time capsule for the coming year, refer back to it at the end of 2025.

The writing panels are genuinely good. I feel like I picked up a lot both as an aspiring game developer and an aspiring writer. I actually have some good ideas on experiences I would like to write, potentially place in a video game medium.

Immy Rayne & Co @dragonfoxing.bsky.social · 08/12/2024

I was wondering about that. Especially with the skybridge being so darn long T-T

Immy Rayne & Co @dragonfoxing.bsky.social · 08/12/2024

What else...I do want to try my hands at vending too, but there's too much up in the air right now, including my own attention span (a fight as always). I think I'm just at that stage in life where I want to start helping the only fandom I truly feel comfortable existing in.

100

Immy Rayne & Co @dragonfoxing.bsky.social · 08/12/2024

Up to you! Also if there was any preamble I missed it due to a panel running over time

110

Immy Rayne & Co @dragonfoxing.bsky.social · 08/12/2024

I think I also want to start volunteering for technical services. It was cool getting to help @glitzyfox.bsky.social & Co display their presentation when they didn't have what they needed for their own laptop. (Perfectly understandable btw)

More likely I might be interested in running a community panel for plural systems, or therian/otherkin (forgive me, I still think of a separation between the two). I would also like to get better at making friends. I don't feel like I get around enough, and intros are hell.

100

Immy Rayne & Co @dragonfoxing.bsky.social · 08/12/2024

I'm honestly surprised that there aren't more technology panels, but maybe game development is just a smaller niche in the furry umbrella. Even back at Rainfurrest, it was only a small presence. Which, I guess, is fair. How exactly do you teach this stuff in such a limited space of time?

100

Immy Rayne & Co @dragonfoxing.bsky.social · 08/12/2024

If I get the chance I want to come back next year, especially if OC Doctor is around because his Original Characters 101 panel was amazing and I want to riff on his humor again. Maybe also consider running a panel. I'm getting older, maybe it's time to give it a shot.

110

Immy Rayne & Co @dragonfoxing.bsky.social · 08/12/2024

I wasn't really sure about my experience going into Midwest Furfest this year. I wasn't interested in main stage stuff, and I wasn't there to socialize in a normal way. The writer panels, expression panel, and therian meet and greet were fantastic, as was @isatis.bsky.social.

I used to hate having time between panels because it meant not being distracted near as much. Now it's kind of nice to be able to sit down and think about the notes and perspectives I've gained. Also these beds are cozy and I'm lazy.
