this honorable mention list makes me crumble to dust, there's no way people responding on this form were born before 2005, there's just no way.

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

i think of the shit i was listening to in 2007 and i'm like, i see it nowhere. the peak of emo era is barely, if any, on the list. and that's not to say that like, people can't make more emo music but it's astounding that this is "of all time". where are the genre pioneers on the list XD

100

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

like hot mulligan is good, don't get me wrong, but it's like they picked albums from 1999, or they picked albums from 2016+ and barely anything inbetween aklsdjfkla;sjdfklajsdkf anyway that's my opinion as a music listener. what an article to read lol.

010

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

okay actually i have scrolled through this list and not only does it pmo that damn near every hot mulligan album is on here, there's more emo bands and albums on the honorable mentions than in most of the list................ the 129 people who filled out this form had to have been born 2005+, lol

210

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

there are some very much not emo era bands/albums on here. but the fact that i had to scroll to 60 before seeing AFI or Sliverstein is kinda mind blowing.

010

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

im going to open this and get pissed off aren't i.......

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

some of y'all need to make your beds before you stream with your camera on. nothing wrong with streaming from your bedroom, do your thing. just... please pull the blanket up to a normal level and maybe not have your entire laundry basket of clothes on the bed or on the floor next to the bed, lol.

locked the fuck in!!!!!!!! 🤠

011

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

I still listen to it pretty regularly, mostly because I have a ton of music from the radio/past CD mixes saved on YT music. I just didn't expect to hear it in the place I was in at all, lmfaaaaaaaao.

010

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

wild experience to hear this in the McDonald's in the train station in Dusseldorf this morning.

130

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

it's even funnier cause what do you think that you, uhhhh, oldmanrunner67, can even fucking do? email someone and be like "omg this runner is 8th out of 900!!!!! not top 5, bad representation of MY COMMUNITY!!!!!!!!" like okay dude. it's not that deep. you can't do shit. fuck off.

020

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

also, mind your own about other runs. runs can be fun and not just about top times. considering lots of big events have "non speedrunning content" and those runs do HUGE numbers, it's not all about who is top dog all the time. log off.

090

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

anyway, I've been doing this shit for 13 years and if I had a dollar for every time this discourse blew up on social media, I'd be able to fund another IRL event and that's a funny thing to think about.

2100

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

they can, and will in fact, change the stream and come back when something they give a shit about is back on. why do you think people who DO get on the GDQ stage are picky about their comms for prime time runs and not just filling the couch with their friends every time? comms gatta be stacked too.

190

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

you can tell when motherfuckers don't organize events or actually contribute to scheduling. cause organizers and GC members know how to spot a good run from a bad one and I promise you it's not solely on LB time. when you and your commentators are not providing any good comms, no one cares.

1100

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

people will only say "I am doing trick, it works like this" and then you go focus mode and stfu for 3 minutes while you do the most asinine, not obvious, boring trick I've ever seen. people want to be entertained too.

180

Varin @dragor1n.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

some of y'all "top times should matter more" opinion havers are the most unentertaining people when performing. y'all forget people give a shit that they're watching engaging content. you can't just have an event with nothing but top time runners and nothing else of substance like good comms.

On this last day of Pride Month, I will once again encourage you all to read some Queer literature - essays, poetry, fantasy, sci-fi, whatever makes your heart sing. Read it. ESPECIALLY if you're White, you should read works from Queer Black+Brown authors! Don't know where to start? Here's a list:

it's also totally ok to change your name until something feels good/right. it actually took me years to land on varin, i even changed my username back in like 2018/2019 and then ended up backtracking back. it's a process, so do whatever you want, it's your name and you have the power.

also my cat-themed sasuke dual sided charm fell off of my bag on the plane and it's gone and im very sad about it. i always knew it was a risk when i wear my acrylic charms on my bag but it still sucks. swooce is looking up the artist again so i can buy another one.

one of the flight attendants on my flight to columbus saw my bloodborne shirt and was like "is that a bloodborne shirt" and I was like "yeah!!", she said she saw Maria on it and Bloodborne was one of her favorite video games. i wish I remembered where I got it cause I got it like 8 years ago lol.

not surprised. that seems to be his style. don't give him what he wants, you're the bad guy. tell the truth or refuse to give in to moving the goalpost and oops, you're the asshole. sorry you had to deal with it, it's rough.

"...without reports being leaked..." but asks beep to tell info about a ban which directly contradicts this and possibly puts a reporter in danger, okaaaaaay. im so lost at this point, the contradiction makes no sense.
