I don’t understand why Jayson Tatum isn’t in MVP discussions. He’s become a complete basketball player who does everything his team needs him to on both ends. And the Celtics are one of if not the best team in the NBA.

Tyler Kolek has single handedly COOKED this Sioux Falls Skyforce team in the G League Winter Showcase Championship. 19 points and 7 assists in 21 minutes, just in control out of the pick-and-roll getting paint touch after paint touch.

G League Winter Showcase Championship on RIGHT NOW between the Westchester Knicks and Sioux Falls Skyforce, with the Miami Heat's G League affiliate having one of the best 2024 NBA Draft performers throughout the Tip-Off tournament period in Keshad Johnson.

Very curious to see how Dink Pate performs today for Mexico City in G League Winter Showcase. Historically, prospects have struggled at this event rightfully so. A lot of experienced players in front of decision makers from every team looking to make their mark. Great opportunity for Pate.

There’s a saying in basketball that sometimes guys are open for a reason (defensive game plan). BUT, instilling trust in your teammates is still paramount. Enabling confidence, and in turn making sure the team knows to ALWAYS make the right play will get the ball back to the stars

I love Jaylen Wells' consistent swing towards aggressiveness with the ball in terms of getting downhill, BUT... gotta have a plan when you attack the defense. He's driving without one, and the Kings have been able to capitalize. He's learning, but I love the attitude.

draftdeeper.bsky.social @draftdeeper.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

The Cleveland Cavaliers do such a great job of moving without the basketball. Guys aren't just stationary waiting for something to happen. Players move to the basketball, or find backdoors. Such a connected team on both ends of the floor.

So Franz Wagner has been thrown around as a comp in recent years for players who don't legitimately fit that comp. But I think Cooper Flagg's actual comp might be Franz Wagner.

Two great wins for the Atlanta Hawks here over the Cleveland Cavaliers. There's a lot of young, quality depth to like on this Atlanta squad. Jalen Johnson and Dyson Daniels especially, with Zaccharie Risacher working through his rookie season. Bright Future Hawks.

Much better half from the 76ers than I expected. Good effort on the glass, and Ricky Council really popped. But man, those guys Amen Thompson and Tari Eason really make a difference for the Rockets when they’re on the floor. Amen especially has been all over.

I've said this to some NBA scouts already, but the Tyrese Proctor storyline at Duke has been very, very fun to watch. Moving off the ball has made his life easier, and he in turn has really broken out in a Quentin Grimes type fashion.

Think Moussa Diabate having some time to develop slowly in the G League last few years has helped him grab onto a backup center role with the Charlotte Hornets. Stronger now, still fights with same effort as he did at Michigan, quick to get to spots and box out. Useful player.

010

draftdeeper.bsky.social @draftdeeper.bsky.social · 25/11/2024

I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face: I’ll happily take Alex Karaban in the lottery if I were an NBA team. Modern 4, excellent decision making, defensive versatility, floor spacing, tertiary playmaking. Checks every box you want from a complementary forward.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are absolutely a team for young players to study right now. No egos, everyone has a role within the offense, everyone communicates and works together on defense. Everyone’s bought into coach’s game plan. Find your place, work hard every day, win.

030

draftdeeper.bsky.social @draftdeeper.bsky.social · 25/11/2024

I said before the season the biggest problem with the 76ers would be the lack of rebounding on both sides of the ball. While I didn't foresee how poorly Philly would rate in eFG% (given stars missing time), the rebounding issue has still reared it's ugly head especially tonight

010

draftdeeper.bsky.social @draftdeeper.bsky.social · 24/11/2024

Starting to see more of the vision for Derik Queen as possibly the best center prospect in this class. I’d like to see more in the halfcourt in terms of scoring, but transition game, rebounding, and light feet on D all tailor made for the NBA game.

000

draftdeeper.bsky.social @draftdeeper.bsky.social · 24/11/2024

You can argue the Houston Rockets don’t have enough shooting to do real damage in the West. Thats fine. But I would make the argument to be very careful with HOU as this team will wear you down. Everyone is buying into defending, not just Amen, Tari, and Dillon.

No surprise that Franz Wagner is having the season he is on offense. He's had plenty of moments before this year that showed his potential as an All-Star caliber forward. The shooting regressed some last season, but he was still a really, really good player.

Evan Mobley remains the Cleveland Cavaliers’ most important player. With how much better he’s gotten off the dribble, how he can find guys and pass into and out of the post, and his defensive ground coverage. If he’s playing well, Cavs can win A LOT.

020

draftdeeper.bsky.social @draftdeeper.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

I’d say the Boston Celtics formula for winning games of having a ton of 3P shooters with a defense that’s built to run opposing teams off the 3P line is pretty effective.

000

draftdeeper.bsky.social @draftdeeper.bsky.social · 19/11/2024

I'm glad to see this because that loss by the 76ers last night was putrid. I get the NBA is built around hitting more 3P shots than your opponent at this point, but the Heat had free runway to create those looks because the DEF was putrid. Accountability matters www.espn.com/nba/story/_/...

Cade Cunningham has been freaking unbelievable this season. Everything runs through him, the team accepts it, and empowers him. Near complete player offensively, and everyone around him is stepping up on defense. Pistons are FUN.

050

draftdeeper.bsky.social @draftdeeper.bsky.social · 19/11/2024

I'm at a loss for describing how this 76ers situation gets better. Joel Embiid is barbeque chicken in that deep drop right now, guys like Oubre aren't stepping up, lack of size on the glass. There just isn't enough defensive support even if Maxey, McCain, and George are ++ on OFF
