That's a good guess! Veterinary pathologist here. The icon is an Irish design, but I come from the standard Appalachian Irish/Scottish/ native American blend and also have a tattoo based on Cherokee beadwork, so you're still right.

A federal worker sent me audio of a call that HR did today with staff about "deferred resignation" agreements offered by DOGE ... I think this is pretty well understood by now but helps confirm what many suspect
The audio goes:
Employee: Lets say I accept the agreement tomorrow - you were to rescind the agreement and they were to stop paying me on Friday ... we would have no recourse available?
HR official: Yes... as the agreement is outlined that is absolutely correct

We got the absolute most disturbing email to that effect, yesterday. It said that if you know someone is doing DEIA activities you have 10 days to turn them in or there will be "consequences". Not just a snitch line; threats if you don't snitch.

I don't recall Harris doing this at all, and when I do a Google lens search none of the matching images from other sources are more than one day old. As in, they didn't exist until after Musk did the salute. Unless you can show an original source I call AI fake on this one.

I have professional liability insurance and it protects me from (1) financial liability stemming from malpractice or negligence on my part and (2) provides license defense. How would it help with this? It doesn't protect me in the event that my employer decides to fire me.

Sticker on an advertisement for a service to"grow your business"
Photo of a rain speckled sign featuring an orange silhouette of a man in a business suit with blue details on the collar and cuffs and a large black tie, holding up a blue umbrella on a pale grey background. A round, black and white sticker covers most of his blank face. It has a capital A in white on a black background, around which is written in alternating black and white rings "No one is coming to save us We are the ones we waited for/ They don't care about you Without you we've got nothing / They won't even try We are all we've got.

My mother likes to walk in graveyards and often took me with her when I was a child. We observed how many old (pre 1950s) graves of young children there were, and how the deaths cluster within a couple of weeks of each other. That's when the plagues came through town.

My mother likes to visit old graveyards and often took me with her. They are quiet places to walk around wherever you go. We'd look at the old gravestones and not only are there so many more young children before 1950, they have usually died in groups within a couple weeks of each other.

We're about to see what happens when H5N1 gets to dance with seasonal influenza over and over again. Here in the US, seasonal flu vaccination coverage is pretty dismal; around 50%. Most of the people drinking raw milk are not going to be vaccinated.
