My co-authored new book with Professor Nick Gallent based on my PhD research at @ucl.ac.uk It raises the “Neo-exogenous Development” to conceptualizes the intensive state intervention, contrast with the increasing state withdrawal from rural regions across the world.

In my previous article on JRS, I introduced neo-exogenous development to explain China’s state-led rural networked development model under Rural Revitalization/RRS. In my new paper, I examine this model’s governance implications, arguing that RRS has fostered a form of “rural party-statecraft”.
