Macrophages help set heart repair in motion. In zebrafish, a new #mdcBerlin study shows that timing and cell-specific inflammation can help trigger regeneration after injury. More: 👉 www.mdc-berlin.de/news/press/h... 👈

How immune cells spur repair of the heart
In “Nature Communications,” Max Delbrück Center researchers show how immune cells initiate zebrafish heart regeneration, highlighting the possibility that precisely timed inflammatory signaling of specific immune cells — rather than broad suppression — could inform new approaches to cardiac repair.

How does regeneration begin after heart injury? In a new Nature Communications paper, the Junker lab at MDC/BIMSB uses in vivo single-cell RNA metabolic labeling to identify early transcriptional responders in the regenerating zebrafish heart. Read more: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

In vivo single-cell RNA metabolic labeling resolves early transcriptional responders in the regenerating zebrafish heart - Nature Communications
This study maps the immediate transcriptional response after zebrafish heart injury and shows that fine-tuning early immune signals can further improve regeneration.

How does geometry shape chemical transport? Lobato-Dauzier et al. show that confinement controls how active flows enhance RD front propagation—beyond FKPP. link.aps.org/doi/10.1103/.... For a perspective on guiding cues in pattern formation see Burkart et al. in Nat Phys Rev doi.org/10.1038/s422...

Confinement Determines Transport of a Reaction-Diffusion Active Matter Front
Confinement of active flows influences chemical signal transport, changing speed by up to a factor of 8, offering insights on biochemical signaling in processes like embryogenesis.

Even though there are great #devbio and #biophysics starter packs, I felt #morphogenesis & #organogenesis was missing as a subfield :D Far from complete or full. Tell me if you want to be added! go.bsky.app/PB6s8PQ
