Like I’m genuinely mad at myself and the process. I’ve always been a binger at heart. And usually, I’m left with something. But here, I’m not even satisfied with the result, and my enjoyment turned into frustration. Why couldn’t I just go to bed and leave it for tomorrow? I’m just disappointed.

COLOR WHEEL! That's right! Instead of clunky buttons, I finally figured out how to use a Radial Menu (github.com/jesuisse/god...) and get the background color and signals working! You can now quickly and visually recognize and select colors! Can't wait to iterate! #gamedev #indiegame #indiegamedev

As much as this hurts, I’ve known this all along. These type of people are singling out trans women ONLY, and any attempt to show them the hypocrisy and widespread affects their bigotry has won’t work. You can’t appeal to a person’s humanity who believes you don’t deserve to be human.

This is amazing! For 20,000 Yen/140 USD, you can get SO much variety and a quality Live2D model! This is gonna change the lives of so many starting VTubers! On the other hand, for me, why bother making my own models anymore? ;-; The quality of premade stuff is SO good these days.

UI upgrade for Color Tycoon and oh my god, I am so HAPPY! Changed each station to a minimalist radial menu, and added a particle effect whenever a color produces! And LOOK AT IT! It adds SO much character to the game! This is JUICY! Can't wait to do more visuals! #gamedev #indiegame #indiegamedev

Oh wow...I would have a better clip for you...but I was playing my own game! Added a simple "Upgrade" system that uses color as currency! It cycles through random colors, so you need to actively make different colors to keep upgrading! Addicted to my own game... #gamedev #indiegame #indiegamedev

Minor update, but I've added a "Current Selling Price" UI! You can now witness the price change in real-time with each manager! In the future, I want to add a hover display per color that shows details, like adders, multipliers, etc. Beautifying comes later! #gamedev #indiegame #indiegamedev

Finally, our Managers are also a custom resource. We can then create an array of various Modifier Effects that affect certain colors. In the future, I want to add "Conditions"/"Requirements" for certain Managers to work. Things like "only works if 3 different colors are being sold at once" etc

ModifierEffects use the "Strategy" pattern. We have a base resource, which has a simple function that modifiers a StatModifier and can be overloaded. It also contains an array of applicable colors. Then, we extend it, and write custom but general functions. This allows us to mix and match values.

StatModifers are essentially the "Global" Levers I can pull. Things like: Selling Price Loading Bay Amount Station Speed I can add to this as development continues. Crucially, every color has its own Stat Modifier, allowing targeted upgrades and effects. I just have to write good Getter functions.

Why did it take so long? Because I had to build an infrastructure and system that allowed me to crank out and balance almost a hundred managers. This will save me time over manually programming 1 manager at a time. To do that, I created 2 custom resources: StatModifiers and ModifierEffects

Having stopped being a VTuber for a year, every time I watch any VTuber do collabs or talk about fun stories, I get hit with a WAVE of parasocial feelings and I’m like “Oh, this isn’t healthy, and some people watch this every day!” I’m glad I stopped streaming. Wasn’t a good fit for me.

Isn’t the solution to your own country’s declining birth rate more immigration? Like, as your country becomes more developed, people start having less kids because the need for manual labor goes down. In addition, immigration goes up because your country is great. The two offset each other.

Uhhh…Red Blue Yellow primaries. Mixing into Purple Green Orange. Mixing into 6 more colors that have fancier names. Colors are hard-coded. Makes balancing easier.

Very simple. You buy primary colors. You can mix up to secondary and even tertiary colors. Then you can sell your color units. You can also pump colors into your stations to upgrade them. Then you can hire managers like Roguelike trinkets to boost your factory.

Fair point! The game I would make if I didn’t have to worry about the market…cannot be made at my current skill set, to be honest. Another thing is my tastes tend to go towards the market, so an Automation Roguelike is right up my alley. Plus, I still want to “sell” it as an experiment.
