In reality, "checking" took me a good ten or fifteen minutes, and by the time I got to the point of checking the math I was sufficiently fatigued that I might have not bothered--except that I knew the right answer should be in the 90% ballpark and that 99.85% was crazy.

Did anyone say they hit mines? The news sources I read said they were targeted with missiles. In any case, regardless of whether it is because of mines or something else, the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, traffic remains 5% of normal, and the cost of insurance remains at 56X normal.

I hate them for what they are, and maybe they are wildly inappropriate to be a taxi, but I don't think they're any intrinsically uglier than the 2nd-generation Priuses were when they came out. There weren't many yellow Priuses, but there were some, and to me it they don't way better:

worse than the second-generation Priuses, if you remember how they looked at the time. I'm not sure I personally ever saw one in yellow, but they existed. I don't know if the Cybercab is honest-to-gosh low drag coefficient, or if it's all for looks like (Cadillac tailfins or Buick "ventiports.")

Not quite a joke. We bought a house with a Kohler "touchless" toilet. No handle You waved your hand over a specific spot on the tank cover. The proximity sensor and flush motor took four AA batteries that lasted about six weeks. The flush action was unreliable and often left the toilet running.
