10/1: The Scooby-Doo Project ★★½ not that great of a time? it's just like Blair Witch in that same way because my opinion of that movie is VERY low, although i am due to see it again as an adult & give it another chance. but yeah, i was hoping this would be more fun

9/29: Resident Evil (in theaters!) ★★★★ this kind of movie is basically an action movie that i actually like. didn't need to be anything more than silly fun & it delivered. i prefer Cregger's other 2 so far, but this was a good time

9/28: Widow's Bay (finished!) ★★★★½ Loved it, as you can tell. absurdly funny, the comedy was right up my alley. and i LOVE how so much is left unanswered - shows like this are at their best when you do not know what is happening (LOST the best example), but i cannot wait for more

9/27: Scooby Doo, Where Are You!: Which Witch is Which? ★★★★ SD continues to just be a better show every single time that they go to, like, an interesting location. the swamp & boat were fun, kept things interesting even if the story was pretty self-contained.

Italy went into Türkiye’s stadium in pouring rain tonight & put on a clinic. Phenomenal team goal from them here. Rewatch it with eyes on the Right Winger Raspadori, watch him aggressively instruct his Fullback Kayode to overlap - he then finds him the chance in the box that leads to the goal

9/26: Over the Garden Wall (entire miniseries) ★★★★ given this is a Top 25 thing rated on Letterboxd of all time, i had higher expectations. the best art design around & a few REALLY spooky highlights at times. i wish i liked the characters more, i think that's the chasm between me & others

9/25: Scooby Doo, Where Are You!: Scooby-Doo and a Mummy, Too ★★★★ The turned-to-stone element elevates this one quite a lot, otherwise it's SUPER run-of-the-mill as the earliest episodes were. we see Shaggy think Scooby died for a second! good way to mix the formula up

9/24: Scooby Doo! Where Are You?: A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts ★★★★½ Stupid fun. 20 minutes of insanity, SO MANY MONSTERS, it never gets old. could have done with a movie length version of this. it's missing a special something to be a masterpiece, but it's so memorable & plain old entertaining

9/23: The Twilight Zone: A Nice Place to Visit ★★★★½ still pissed Bluesky spoiled this for me (as did CBS on Youtube for so many others). all of TZ is well acted but this one REALLY stood out, Sebastian Cabot is a fucking treat. a highlight episode, wish i could have seen it organically!

9/22: The Twilight Zone: The Big Tall Wish ★★★½ worth watching for the visual effects in the big moment, as a lot of episodes are. but the story moral was so heavy-handed yet... i have no idea what i am supposed to take away from it?

fucking awesome that the concacaf nations league rights traded hands from cbs to fox

current cnl highlights are 3-minute videos from concacaf, not even from fox!

for all of this decade prior, cbs put out a ~13 minute highlight tape of all CNL games even the lowest nations league division

9/21: Vampyr (began) i got the vampire game! no, not the vampire game that's taking over the world right now. this has been on/off my backlog for years, but Mortismal sold me on it & i knew i wanted it to be a game i play this season. i have so much ahead but i think i'll like it!

9/20: Scooby Doo, Where Are You?: Bedlam in the Big Top ★★★★★ Goddamn, this was so much better than I had remembered as “the clown episode”. Not only is the villain just a top tier fear for people, but they combine that with what have by far been the most frightening actual acts the villain does

9/19: The Twilight Zone: Execution ★★ Silly little story about justice. The only fun to be had is the fish out of water part. Ultimately I watch the twilight zone for episodes that are a lot more than this though (Another makeup I pre watched !)

9/18: People Are Alike All Over ★★★★ Painfully slow first half episode that scales well later on into an incredible finale. Kind of a staple of Twilight Zone setups. (Makeup that I pre-prepared & watched last week, which I still count!)

9/17: Scooby Doo! Where Are You?: The Backstage Rage ★★★★½ The villain stuff is debatably the series best. Terrifying in a lot of ways, amazing twist even. But it did leave me wanting more time with it. Set up takes too long to get to the brilliant stuff. Would give 9.5/10

9/16: Scooby Doo! Where Are You?: Foul Play in Funland ★★★★½ lmfao @ a 1969 cartoon about a guy trying to replace human labor with robots nice touch for a monster to have a distinct sound at all times. shallow plot, but ultimately Mystery Inc. fucking around in an amusement park is great stuff
