Okay…so I guess Naperville produced <one> good thing.

Didn’t help that we moved to a house in the woods right before seeing this…

An impossible feat, but fun to attempt…

THIS JUST IN: Hard music is hard. An absolute delight to be playing a new flute/viola/harp trio by the UK’s Zoë Martlew for Grossman Ensemble!

Bunch of middle-aged new-music weirdos on the Logan Center stage acting the fool…

I used to do classical criticism at Time Out Chicago with Mia! She is so much cooler than I can ever hope to be!

He brought his quartet (Pérez, Patitucci, Blade) to USC when I was in grad school there In the early 2000s and we in the university orchestra got to back them up on a full concert. One of the most unforgettable moments of my musical life!

I played the Chicago show! What a fantastic soundtrack.

My heart is broken for the musicians. I also think the traditional orchestral model is not a sustainable one and hasn’t been for some time. My hometown band, the CSO, plays a single community concert every year…and can’t figure out why the community doesn’t feel ownership of/with them.

Reading Pedro Ferreira’s “The Perfect Theory”—his history of General Relativity—and just learned that the Juilliard Quartet once played in Einstein’s home. How fucking cool is that???

Excerpted text reading “The Juilliard String Quartet once came to play an impromptu concert in his front room.”

I didn’t realize George was already on to number 4.5! Ours was 1.5, and I love that he’s continued with the decimals! Looking forward to listening…

The CSO…always on the cutting edge 🙄. Maybe they could have used those dollars to, I don’t know, reinstate MusicNow or even designate a composer-in-residence.

Risen local star Shawn Okpebholo wrote us a love letter to #Chicago, and I think you’ll love it. Like any efficacious love letter, this one doesn’t shy away from pain (in this case, the omnipresent police as represented by the garish whistles) youtu.be/LU4y6_b8xs4?...

What has two thumbs and just recorded with Verböten’s Jason Narducy at Electrical Audio? Not sure how deep Bluesky goes on punk, but @imleor.bsky.social and @robertloerzel.bsky.social probably know what’s up.
