Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, Flight of Dragons, Her Majesty's Wizard. Howl's Moving Castle is fun in that it's a novel written by a British author (in the novel Howl is from present day Wales) AND a Studio Ghibli film. All the same genre and it goes back to ancient folklore all over the world.

Note that liminality is a philosophical term for a transition or boundary. The dread of liminal spaces is the sensation of the moment between stepping off a cliff and actually falling. An empty building is waiting to be occupied and it feels weird when it's not. But there's more to liminality.

So it's unclear whether or not these people were actually hired by the protest organizers, but if they were, then they were acting outside of that capacity just by being armed at all. Which makes this murder. You don't just fire into a crowd because you think one of them might be dangerous.

Alan Alda is a treasure. His autobiography is titled 'Never Have Your Dog Stuffed' and his life has been exactly as weird as that title implies. And he's just... a good human. MASH still holds up at least reasonably well compared to other media of its time, and that's mostly down to him.
