I think Thursdays from 7pm may be my favourite time of the week as I get to coach these marvellous women. 18 at training this week.

I've coached a few Rugby sides over the years, coaching the Wally Warriors remains the most enjoyable.

When your wife is a Rugby First Aider so needs more kit and bags than you do as a Ref. The boys of Wallingford 2s are in safe hands. She still does this even though I no longer play for or coach the side.

Well the last few months have been interesting. I left my job so as to be there more for my wife (who had some health issues) and then at the end of June my Mum had a stroke caused by a massive brain bleed. This week she moves to a care home. I'm now job hunting, with work/life balance key.

Youngest turned out for MGS First XV on Friday night. Loved the new kit (he's chuffed it has a proper collar.) He's less.enampured by the (his words here) "sports bra" he has to wear for the GPS tracker. Started thebseason with a W away to Gravesend.

First reffing appointment of the season today, a decent U18s school game between Bloxham 2s and Kings Worcester 2s. 0-14 at HT, home side got to 12-14 with 15 to go, then KWS bench delivered fresh impetus.

RIP Dolly, not just a music icon but someone who used their wealth for the good of others.

Having a proud Dad moment. The daughter recently got a 2:1 in her Education Degree, eldest lad heads to Uni in September and youngest has smashed hid GCSEs out of the park. I love my kids.

Some really good parenting here, making a dent in the local midge population hopefully. Those youngsters aren't far off being ready to leave the nest.

Lovely bench on the sea front at Nairn today with an important message on it, and if you sit on it the views are not to shabby #itsoktonotbeok

Thanks iTunes, that's the last time I decide to listen to different versions of Caledonia, the Dougie Maclean classic. In among all the good stuff there's a real horror show - the Jane McDonald version....that needs a health warning!!!!

Knew my niece was working with the Scottish men for the first time this week, wonder if she realised she'd make the team social media reel

Great day yesterday, shared the pitch with my youngest son, and then ingoring her Doctors advice as "it's only Touch" (her words) my daughter too...oh and the fab bunch of women I coach 🏉

After our Finn-sanity shirts last year (which went to Cardiff as well as the PREM final) I'm looking forward to seeing this years 'tour' shirt on Saturday. Gave a young Bath fan my shirt after last years final.

A few more randoms since my last time here...my youngest post-match, FRU pals at Murrayfield recreating an old photo from our clubs 50th anniversary ball and my boys and I at Twickers supporting my youngests school team, and my daughter with her Rugby idol. Happy days.

Took the daughter to see Beetlejuice the Musical on Saturday - if you liked the film you'll love it. Some great gags, the ghost with the most having a beef about Paddington the Musical was funny. The parents who took young teens and kids will have had some explaining to do 😂🤣😂

Why is it when I've got my camera and go for a walk to try and grab a pic the hares never show up, but if I'm only out with my phone. Think you can just about make it out.

The Scottish Women's Rugby team have grown so much in recent years. Credit to Brian Easson. They are a joy to watch. Sadly the Scottish Rugby Union have really let them down. 15 contracts is a joke. I fear all the recent momentum will be lost. #Rugby

Great day at the Rugby in Exeter yesterday, in spite of the results. Met the @squidgerugby.bsky.social boys who do some great stuff and the daughter got some photos with Welsh players, and a decent chat with Gwen Crabb

It wasn't the result I was hoping for but still a great day. Gutted that these 2 great servants of Tigers didn't get the W to sign off. Still Finn Russell was a joy to watch.

040

Doug The Prop @dougtheprop.bsky.social · 14/06/2025

A few weeks ago "So we're wearing our Finn shirts if Bath make the final?" "Of course...mind you Tigers could be there too" "You can deal with that if it happens." I'll be the really warm bloke in his Tigers top and Finn Shirt!

Le Tour De Kilts are off to Twickenham, where we'd already agreed to wear our Finn Russell shirts...luckily they go with Tigers colours #Rugby

Me "Good shift out there today, nice try too." Youngest "Yeah...I was happier with my carrying and off-loads than the try. That was just short-range and carrying a couple of their players over the line." Spoken like a forward

When your joining up with your sons U15 Rugby tour and the theme is 'pink' - this should meet the brief.
